You can also do something like what I've done in my PC version. Example. The ditch allows NPCS to jump over it while zombies and other baddies will fall down and be trapped in until the morning. It is also great for Goblin Invasions as you can just let all the goblins fall in and then massacre them. The arena type thing to the right is really useful for boss fights like the Eye. It allows you a huge area of movement and prevents bosses from going into your house and killing every NPC.
I was really looking forward to this as I loved the pc version. It was an insta buy for my but I was worried about the controls. 505 nailed it! The controls are spot on I am really impressed with the transition to touch devices. This is the first time I've bothered to write a review out of the 300 apps I have it's just that impressive. Buy it play it love it.
Does iOS Terraria support users mods? There's some cool stuff out there for the PC edition I'd be a dream to see apply to iOS.
You can't find the map button because there isn't one. Terraria has randomly generated worlds which are absolutely massive. They couldn't possibly fit a map onto a tiny screen without us not being able to distinguish anything. I'm not sure what you mean by the NPC menu screen. Each NPC has a designated function that can be accessed by completing various "quests" in the game.
I've been tinkering around with the app files using iFunBox, but they seemed to have changed the file states (eg. PC Terraria had .wld, iOS Terraria has .world) so I'm not sure if mods and such can be applied. Apologies for the double post.
I'm stuck in the tutorial where you build a chair and a table. I did it and nothing has happened since.
You need to fill in all the gaps in your back wall. The tutorial doesn't do a very good job explaining that detail. If you have those black cracks in between your wall tiles it doesn't count as a proper room.
Great. I just experienced a glitch with the chests. I deposited stuff into a chest that was apparently full and lost all the stuff I deposited. This included 20 iron bars, 5 silver bars, and a bunch of other stuff. #sadness
The xbox version has a map button and it shows the entire world, you can scroll/zoom and see everything, works fine. It also has a NPC menu where you can see them all and it shows their status as well. Where is all that? I really miss my map
Loving this game. Bought it on PC but didnt play for more than an hour, but this is awesome on ios. I dug a tunnel and I just kept digging lol, but now I've come across some stuff like blue ore and a red jewel and also a skull statue lookin thing. I can't seem to mine the ore or the jewel and the statue does nothing?
Yep. Small - 4200 blocks wide and 1200 blocks high, sky limit about 360-370 blocks above underground level. Medium - 6400 blocks wide and 1800 blocks high, sky limit about 450-600 blocks above underground level. Large - 8400 blocks wide and 2400 blocks high, sky limit about 800-900 blocks above underground level. No idea what size they are on iOS.
Bought this, expecting the controls to be sh*t just like any other dual touch stick games... But I have to admit I'm impressed, wasn't expecting to have as much fun as on the PC version. Placing blocks can be quite hard when you need precision, but other than that I loved the gameplay on my iPad. I was wondering if anyone has managed to "fast craft" the same way that you do on the PC by keeping the button pressed. To smelt all my material for exemple I had to press a ridiculous amount of time the craft button, to the point I even used more fingers.
The max health is 10 hearts, or 200 health. Any additional heart crystals you find just sell for a nice profit.
