Great port of one of my favorite games of all time! I have encountered one large issue though: when you reach the end of the generated world (walked on the bottom of the ocean all the way to th right or left), the game crashes and reverts to your last hard save, in my case I lost about two hours of mining..... So, as a warning: Don't try to jump off the end of the world!
Haha I know someone just needs to boldly declare which one is superior and I will quickly purchase that one without thinking.
Neither one is boldly superior. If you got one now, there's no reason why you couldn't enjoy it and get the other one later. Do you prefer to kill things (Terraria), or build? (JunkJackX)
Argh! A lil over an hours work in, noticed a trinket in my inventory I had looted somewhere, clicked it to read description. Clicked character button, crash all progress lost -facepalm- I'll start it up again in a lil bit, just want to fuss first
Hmm, I've never had this happen to me before and I've looted multiple trinkets. Do you remember which one it was so that other players are forewarned?
This doesn't feel quite the same as the PC version to me. I'm finding way too many chests, and with quite decent gear too... I got two mirrors within about five minutes. It's like the game is helping me more than I want it to.
Might've just been luck. I think the mirror is actually one of the earlier items... I just don't remember it being five-minutes-in early.
I've played it for about 20 minutes and the biggest problem for me is building... I can't even build a normal, wooden wall. Don't you have this problem or i should just get used to it?
i prefer this. though i am a junk jack advocate, you cant deny the sense of 'purpose' in this game compared to junk jacks 'just because + multiplayer' nature. if you dont care for MP, then this is the best choice.
I just bought Jack's Junk. I have a limited budget, limited patience for this genre and I despise easy games... should I buy this one too?
Don't let increased loot distributions turn you away. It's probably for the better, because the PC version is quite hard for new players to adjust to and may be very limiting to players without decent gear (in terms to getting to the actual meat-and-potatoes content). I myself haven't noticed much of a difference, as I am concurrently running games on both the PC and iOS versions to try and track differences between the versions. In fact, I've probably gotten more chests and golden chest on the PC version than the iOS.
If it weren't for JJX having multiplayer I'd probably be siding with Terraria, but I like 'em both. I'm down to play JJX if you want, no idea what I'm doing though. If you're not bothered about it not being portable, definitely get it on PC. The update is about to effectively double the size of the game and there's no word about if it'll get to iOS yet. Plus the PC version has larger worlds and multiplayer, default is 8 players but more is possible depending on the server.
What do you mean you "can't"? You should play through the tutorial. I had no idea how to build because I wanted to just jump right in, but the tutorial is actually pretty quick and useful. I just wanted to say that I prefer the game over Junk Jack (X) (which I did purchase as well) and even Minecraft. I love the NPCs, town building elements, bosses, etc. I'm not good at being self motivated when it comes to these games so having some real purpose adds a lot to this genre.
Bought both also, but it looks like Terraria will be get most of my time it's also my first time ever playing it #
It's been so long since I played that I can't remember specifics. I think it's just platforms, but you're able to jump higher than regular enemies. This is one of my old screenshots, and the door on the left side of the building is zombie-proof: Linky linky.
