Any word on the ability to replace texture files? I've already downloaded a few texture packs, and just want to know if the in-game textures are easily replaceable with any from texture packs. Who wouldn't want to play in a Zelda-themed Terraria?! Or man... I wonder if there's an Infinity Blade texture pack out there.

So I summoned the Eye of C last night to see how boss battles work with the touchscreen controls. Turns out, not such a good idea with 140 health crystals and silver armor. I did manage to whittle it down to about 1/3 health by using a bow and arrows and just running for my life, but I can definitely see the touch controls getting in the way slightly if you're too frantic and not really paying much attention to precision movement. I'll test out either Skeletron or the Wall today if I manage to upgrade my set in time.

Have you tried selecting your pick and mining the wall of iron/silver/gold ? I believe the tutorial gives you a tip, then gives you time to perform the specified actions. It is still very free form. Let me know if that works for you.

Thanks for the reply.... Yeah, tried that. Mined all three levels and then nothing. The tip just stays on the screen.

Didn't see an answer to this... use a hammer. It's to avoid accidentally tearing down foreground walls and items accidentally.

Is that the part with the chest underneath? It should change once you stand in front of that. If not, must be a bug.

To add to this, we are probably getting permadeath in an update right? That and the RPG elements is what drew me to this over JJX.

Oh, is there any way to keep NPCs from entering your house and letting all kinds of enemies inside. Already was attacked by a zombie because one NPC (the tips guy) let it come in behind him

Anyone know how to open this chest I found way up in the sky surrounded by gold bricks? I tap the chest and nothing happens

Edit: found on wiki, you need a gold key which is found in "The Dungeon"

Question to those who have both this and JJX: which has the bigger, better (as in more stuff to stumble upon and more biomes) worlds?

It's so hard to compare them, even if they do look very similar.

Terraria is like side scrolling Zelda with minecraft elemens.

JJX is like Minecraft in 2D with cool treasures and multiplayer.

JJX was also built for iOS from the ground up, it leverages every aspect of the platform, where Terraria was ported. It may lead to fewer updates for Terraria, while we already know the excellent track record the JJ devs have.

Both games excel, but they each do so in very different ways.

I would say Terraria, almost hands down. The biomes are huge, expansive mini-worlds with new scenery, music, monsters and loot. Just earlier I decided to do a run where I dug straight down in my world (In a two-block width) and encountered the jungle biome, which I had to dig into for 5 minutes to get through with a gold pickaxe (from the time I first encountered it to when it ended). So yea, the biomes are massive. Other biomes include the Underworld, Floating Islands, Hallows, Corruption, Deserts, and Oceans, to name a few.

The only draws that I can see JJX having over this are the Multiplayer and the visuals (my personal preferences). If you don't care about the multiplayer, then by all means go for Terraria.
