You can stop the boss from using its abilities with lightning attacks. Equip characters with lightning abilities.

Thanks dude! So thousand ray sword seems worth getting on zuzu

Okay some1 help me with 18-5 because spike traps are simply brutal...maybe possibly with positions of units? It is very difficult because you need to take damage to get to the enemies and then they can easily knock you into other pits

Do you have any characters with levitation? That's how I get away with traps. If you don't have one...good luck.

I beat it...No levitation just very strategic self harm and healing needed. This game is getting really really hard and im not sure how to feel lol.

Oh man the facebook character looks amazing. Though I already got her from Japan promotions :p She's awesome if you want a cool exclusive character though!

Not really to be honest. Status skills are about as effective as in final fantasy here (not very effective) and it takes her too long to be able to heal any unit. She has a couple cool skills but levelling and upgrading her will be a pain since she is practically useless in stages.

At first I thought she was kind of useless, but her sleep skill is almost always successful on those silver and gold runners in the metal zone.

Which is cool, but remember she's taking the spot of a character you might have wanted to level up for the campaign or arena run. Sure she'll help stop a couple of runners so you can gain a bit more XP for your other characters, but she is taking one spot you might have better filled levelling someone else. Really the metal zone is for levelling.

Theres a tip in game that says those runners are subject to sleep, so it's an effective strategy, sure, but like I said if you want to level an entire party, then she takes a spot.

It will depend on the metal zone: http://www.terrabattlex.com/zones/metal

Metal Zone 1 (unlocks after tutorial) Levels 1-20 (vulnerable to sleep)
Metal Zone 2 (unlocks after Chapter 8) Levels 20-29 (vulnerable to sleep)
Metal Zone 3 (unlocks after Chapter 12) Levels 30-39 (vulnerable to paralysis)
Metal Zone 4 (unlocks after Chapter 17) Levels 40-49 (vulnerable to confusion)
Metal Zone 5 (unlocks after Chapter 21) Levels 50-59 (vulnerable to petrification)

At least characters with sleep ability helps your team to level up easier through levels 1-29 of metal zones.

I still can't figure out how to get runners without them moving. The wiki said they're sensitive to movement so moving slower would help. I don't think that's true as they won't move under certain movements (can't remember which with certainty), however no matter if you move fast or slow next to their spot, 95% of the time they will move.

I used to think there's a certain move that won't alert them but I haven't been able to figure it out.

Easiest way is to use status effects on the runners. It's 100% effective

Yep, and aside from that status has no use really. The energy system of this game makes it dumb to guess trying to figure out if your status attacks work so most of those units end up as dead weight.

  16. Finally my Paralyse skill will be useful.

Thanks for the responses. I'll try and see if I have any status characters in my set. I'm not far enough that I don't have Eileen yet.

Sadly right now I dread seeing the runners because I know they'll mess up my movement and take up space. If I try to kill them I try to get my mage / characters lined up near it so they'll take area damage. Pretty lame work around..
