Not sure why you did that.. Imo she's one of the top 3 SS characters. I'd put her at number 1 just because she's well rounded. I also think she has the best art for the SS.
So let me get this straight, people are deleting the game and restarting it so their starting character (and presumably the free pack pull you get) are better?
thats oldhat for games like puzzle and dragons, where if you dont want to spend money, you need every guy you get to be the best. i downloaded this, but have yet to play it. sadly, i spent so much money on puzzle and dragons, that im afraid to start another -like game. a shameful amount...
I pulled a bunch of B class characters during the tutorial, but with the energy they give you n your message box, I pulled an SS mage, Amimari the Nurse. Is that a good way to start out, or do people often pull better characters in the tutorial?
That's good. During the tutorial the characters you get are set. Only when you finish the tutorial and get bolts is when you get a chance for a good character. So the SS was the only one you really pulled.
Thanks. I think the character I pulled with the other currency was a D class, but oh well. I feel like you usually outgrow these starter characters in F2P games like this anyway. Plus, and I'm not sure how team cost works in this game yet, it's probably not that good to start out with a bunch of crazy awesome characters.
Terra Battle has no team costs. I remember re-rolling in PAD until I got a Horus and couldn't even use the damn guy because of team cost. Power creep is inevitable in F2P games like this but it's nice to get a head start with S or SS units. Power creep seems to be especially bad in Brave Frontier. They release a unit, and the next week release another with the same abilities but superior stats. It's crazy. I haven't played PAD in a while so I don't know if it's as bad as BF.
I'm not sure what you're trying to get at here. If you mean the rate of character leveling slows down a lot, yes, you're right. Of course, that's how every game works since each additional character level requires an ever increasing amount of XP. However, Experience per chapter level is effectively fixed since the only variant for any given chapter level are the bonuses from killing more than one enemy on a turn and any enemies that retreat for whatever reason. Your characters' levels have no effect on how much/little XP you gain from playing a chapter level. But don't dismiss playing the "normal" game for XP. Sure, where I'm at now it's a better return on XP to play Metal Zone 3, but it's not that much better than playing Chapter 15.9 where I get 35K-40K XP + ~1K gold and drops for 12E -> 20e in metal zone yields 100K-150K XP on average, 24e on C15.9 yields 70K-80K XP & ~2K gold (plus drops) So, yes, faced with a choice between Metal Zone vs. Chapter level, the Metal Zone will be the better choice for character leveling but that's not to say there aren't obvious "grinding" levels included. Just have to pay enough attention to discover them.
Exactly. The game, so far, is a single player only affair that was balanced around a typical selection of characters, ergo, no reason to chase SS. Then consider we have NO idea what balancing, constraints, etc. will happen with Vs. mode, ergo, chasing SS may provide no net advantage. Kind of odd. With the way the game is currently, there are NO bad characters, you can just jump in and have a good time. Yet, given the option to stress over this character vs. that one we see people going for it left and right. The really screwy part is that less rare vs. more rare are balanced through the skill boost mechanic. You will find it much easier to get reliable procs on a B character than you will an SS one due to the number of duplicates you'll get during pulls (my Bahl is up to over 25% skill boost ). Good luck ever relying on a base 30% skill on an SS character
I chase starter SS unit because I know I am more than likely never gonna encounter them again with just the free energy from game. So, starting with one makes me happier knowing I have a unit that I will use forever until the very end. It's more for keeping sake than making the game easier. The game itself isn't that hard and getting an SS doesn't make it that much easier either.
It's perfectly fine to reroll until you get a decent starter roll like in many other games of this genre (puzzle like, collecting monsters, gamble to get good monsters) especially if you consider to go the non-IAP route because this is the only time where you can get an SS 100%. According to the unofficial forum, the game get's pretty tough later on so I would go for it!
In the beginning, you'll always get 2 B rank chars. Atm, you get either Grace (Bow User) or Bahl (Sword User), and then your 2nd char will always be Kuskah (a very useful Healer). But ppl will only be getting Kuskah during the event; so when the event's over, I'm not sure who's going to be your 2nd char. Anyways, you get 1 roll for the good chars after finishing the tutorial which is a total of 5 lvls in the beginning (just be sure to claim the additional rewards in your Messages first). If you input the gift code listed on their Twitter into the Gift Code section (in the Options... or is it Settings? I'll check later), you'll get another free roll for the good chars.
