Thanks for telling us a bit more about the game, guys. The screenshots and the trailer show nothing, so i wasn't sure. Now i know it's not my kind of game. I thought it was a fps..
The trailer on the appstore is laughable.. It looks like a japanese porno :)

    my personal impression:
    - on rails
    - repetitive gameplay
    - reuse animation over and over again
    - reuse assets(and i wonder the big file size?)
    - repetitive missions, even after almost 1 hour of gameplay, i still feel like im replaying the previous missions.
    - the story in this game is unnecessary
    - in one of the missions i only get one pass(others are perfect) and i cant even finished the missions due to running out of time? hmmm, i smell a heavy future IAP in this.
    - whats the point in giving a player a three chances if when i only failed once, i cant even complete the mission? again, IAP right?so player can buy booster to extend time.
    - so the conclusions are, in this game you just basically 1. wait for the precise timing and tap, 2. tap as fast as you can, 3. and the last one link one dot to another as fast as you can.

ps. no mini games when disarming a bomb?ow, cmon :(

I listened to feedback and grabbed this as it was fairly positive, first on release iOS game I've bought for awhile. Unfortunately I have to agree mostly with Redribbon, it's just a lazy game, you don't do a lot and there's little variation. Yes it's targeted to be like this and some people will love it, but for a game where the 'cinematic' experience and story are meant to be the driving force, it seems a bit predictable and light.

It is what it says on the tin I guess.

Hm i dunno if I should get it. The game looks intense at first, but a lot of the scenes look very similar after a while. Is the story any good? Does this game have any depth? Im assuming that the gameplay isnt so deep, but the story makes up for that correct? Or is this just a pretty game with QTE?

It's not fps but QTE and as long as you know that from the start then you can decide whether you want to play this.

For me it's good as I just wanted a pick up and play not much else.

"apps with App icons, screenshots, and previews that do not adhere to the 4+ age rating will be rejected"
    Rule 3.6.
    App Store review guidelines.

    It's always been there.
It just happens its actively been enforced now. For particular reasons.
It doesn't affect the app and whatever rating it individually falls under.
But as everybody and anybody can see every and any screenshot on the store irrelevant of app rating or whatever parental guidelines are in place on a device or account, metadata (screenshots, videos, etc.) must comply with the 4+ rating guidelines.
Which basically disallows demonstrating violence against other humans or weaponry.

It's not a new rule, it's always been there.
Obviously it's one they have felt a need to enforce or been asked to enforce now.

And as worldcitizen said above, this is a pick up and play game.
If that's not for you, well it's not for you.
If you know what you're getting and are happy to still get it, well, you will enjoy it as it is done very well.
But don't confuse it with a full character controllable open fps, that it ain't and doesn't claim to be.
I still think it does what I want it to do very well and fits in to that quick play category very well.

But it won't please everybody so please do as I said earlier and have a look at the PG preview I linked on the very first page just so you know what you're getting.

And no, Redribbon, none of those things you associate with iap are iap related. Let's not assign attributes that are not there.
There's already a booster for time that you mentioned but it is NOT IAP. Let's not confuse certain mechanics that have been around forever with something else.
As to the rest, well, some will like it, some won't.
I get that and you're point of view on it, it's perfectly fair (except the iap implications), different tastes and all that.
It just happens that it's one I'm enjoying and possibly because I'm playing in short bursts which is more or less the way it was designed rather than for long play sessions.

It's not an FPS because FPS stands for "First Person Shooter" and the game isn't "played" (I shall use that term very lightly here) from a first person perspective.

Do people really not know what FPS stands for?

Yeah they do but I think you missed his point though and how it would relate to perception.
The Perception could be that because the game has military, guns, hostages, whatever, etc, etc, ie environmental elements that an FPS would have normally, that it would in fact be an FPS.
He was merely pointing out that allowing for that perception that some will have because of those elements that it is in fact not an FPS.
I believe it was clarity he was going for and achieved.
Simply using an Example of what it's not to illustrate what it is.
I thought that was pretty obvious.

And I suppose just for the sake of more clarity on the type of game this is, here's the PocketGamer review.

It gets a very solid silver rating at an 8 out of 10.
Which I have to agree with I suppose considering my earlier impressions.:)

Anyway, give it a read just so people do understand what they are getting.
Good luck with it and enjoy.

Edit. And after putting much more time in it since my earlier impressions, I should update and say I'm still enjoying it a lot, which is a good sign really.
It has an addictive element to it that I would characterise along the lines of how Injustice sucks you in and keeps you playing.
In a similar way to how Injustice is perfect for pick up and play, this has a similar vibe going for it.
I know that won't be for everybody but hey what game ever is really.

Overall, it's not the best and it's not the worst...it is what it is so to speak. It's 5$, take it or leave it. Just another someone's attempt at the next best thing. I'm having a little fun with it but just like every game, if you play it into the ground it will most certainly become repetitive and boring. Cheers

And on side note. FPS is used for both. Whether it's one or the other shld easily b discerned from the context. Case closed.

I was pretty aware that it was all QTE and read people's comments here, unfortunately that didn't make the game any better for me and expected more for the type of game it was. So, eyes wide open but it delivered less than expected. I was expecting a decent journey and visually evolving instances that even ancient titles like Dragons Lair and Space Ace offered, this is very modular with rehashed sequences, not really playing to its genres strengths.

IMO anyway, I fully respect people with different opinions, I just disagree that knowing the games genre before hand is enough.
