I just matched four things and got a scarab. Made my day. There are close to 200 games. It’s 5 dollars a month. Most of the games are excellent. Developers have spent millions of dollars to create many titles that will appeal to all. If you want to play a freemium match 3 game, where the in app purchases go as far as $99.99, go play them and stop bitching on here. Oh…there are static ads as well. I’ll take a beautifully polished game with excellent graphics, gameplay etc, and have the choice to play 179 other games. It’s $4.99 a month. The are roughly 720 hours in a month. And people still find a way to complain about one of the greatest programs that ‘doesn’t have quality titles.’ Stop complaining. Toraíocht, ROGER-NL and Asp like this. I am a subscriber to Apple Arcade. And I don’t mind playing cheap simple basic games. Actually, I prefer them. My most-frequently played game on my iPhone by far is Solitaire. I also play a match-3 game occasionally myself, that being the original Bejeweled classic. My issue is the dearth of match-3 games that come out all the time and that are all exactly the same as each other, without adding anything new to the gameplay. It’s also so reassuring to know that, whatever the genre, the game will not be balanced to sell IAPs. As far as match 3s are concerned, I’m all set with Zookeeper World. But glad that Temple Run fans have this game. But I ended up falling hard for Zookeeper World, so maybe the genre is not quite exhausted . BrettArchibald likes this. Asp Well-Known Member Aug 3, 2017 769 196 43 #9 Asp, Sep 17, 2021 It’s an interesting point. I think match-3 has a huge following of people who expect the core mechanic to be consistent in every game. No need to learn anything new. Though there has been some change with many having thematic settings and evolving stories, I’m not sure what could be done to basic gameplay without alienating many players. Anyway, I’m impressed with the slick presentation of Temple Run. This and Simon’s Cat are top examples of the genre on AA. I haven’t looked at Zookeeper World as I can’t take on any more match-3’s! Apologies. I’m simply concerned about the program’s success. It’s difficult to understand in general why someone would prefer to make an IAP purchase for $30 within a game, where most of the results are predetermined. (Angry Birds 2) BrettArchibald likes this. Temple Run has several bugs later on which are a pain, such as flying bugs disappearing from the screen when making a combo with them, thus leaving a hole in the board which ends up making the level unbeatable. I wish Apple Arcade games were more polished since the beginning, because I see many bugs in their first release. Sure, devs fix them in updates, but I feel Apple Arcade releases are less polished in the beginning compared to some non-Apple Arcade games (others are utter crap in any case tho, lol).
