    I am happy you are enjoying the game:D. Grats on your second elder kill. Working on improvements currently. Have a new teaching job now so have to balance both. Can't wait for the new art to hit the game. Its gonna help a lot.

    Hello folks, Templar Infinite Crusade has been reviewed here in touch arcade by Shaun Musgrave. 3 and a Half stars :D . Drop by, read it and comment. Extremely happy.

    I believe the review was spot on, and the experience does need to be improved, but the gameplay in general is pretty sweet for short bursts :D.

    congrats for getting reviewed :) Shaun's review was spot on as always. With better graphics and animation, i believe your game could go to 5 stars for a fast roguelike. I haven't got a code, i will wait to buy it if and when it gets fully updated to its glory, to give you my support!

    Next patch functionality

    Hello everyone. Update on patch status.

    I plan to submit the next patch in a week or two. Will contain the following items 100%-

    --Monster modifers(randomly make encounters easier/harder. more/less rewarding).
    --Option to raise or lower difficulty at will. Some folks enjoy the game because its hard/deadly, other folks get frustrated due to the difficulty. Will let user increase/decrease difficulty with an appropriate increase/reduction in gold rewards. There will always be a recommended difficulty level displayed according to how many elder ones the user has defeated but there will be a base 1 difficulty and can be raised plenty. lower difficulty will cater to grinders a bit more.

    not 100% sure but maybe-
    -balancing lower levels of the game so the difficulty is a little easier in the beginning, then ramps up as normal.
    - rebirth system.

    Target for next months patch
    -new graphics
    - challenge modes
    -whatever items listed above not already in game.

    Hello everyone

    Sorry I have taken so long to post. Next patch should be submitted tomorrow/over the weekend. Its mainly a balance patch.

    Templars will have more skill uses:
    2 extra arrows, extra heal, extra fireball, two extra morphs, extra shield and barrier.

    Base stats when a game is begun have been raised. Makes it easier in the beginning.

    Monster modifiers included. Many modifiers make monsters easier(gold reward unchanged), other make monsters harder(gold reward increased). Others flat out increase the gold reward.

    Treasure piles CANNOT be stacked when invested. If you invest a pile that is worth less than your current investment it is automatically sold.

    Certain monster names changed to not cause confusion with monster modifiers.

    Log descriptions improved overall.

    Gold distance payout rebalanced,(no longer exponential payout, now linear model).

    What this means is overall the game is easier in the beginning, while mounting its difficulty later on. New players overall will benefit from the easier beginning, older players will have extra skill uses.

    Will try to sneak in other changes if possible. Will post patch notes here after submission.

    Game Impressions

    This game is def good for pick up and play. Easy to get into a groove. The games are pretty short and i dont have alot of other games i like that are short, so it fits a good spot in my collection. The art is almost surreal in it's abstraction and i personally dig it. Have maybe sunk total only 45 min into it but i like it.

    Hello there :D

    I am happy you are enjoying the game. I have not been as active as usual in the forums as I am busy teaching IT to doctors. I am currently talking to a third artist as 2 artist have abandoned the project for some reason after doing about 50% of the work. I am rather disappointed as I promised new graphics by mid-februray, and had been posting images from the previous artist. As soon as I have some images from the new art I will post them here.

    Currently finishing a balance patch(notes above). Should be submitted soon. Will make the game way more forgiving at the beginning, and everyone will have a few extra skill uses for most skills regardless of level.

    Hello everyone, long time. UPDATE SUBMITTED.

    Hello All. It's been quite a long time since my last post, but I have been hard at work. I have been unable to secure new art at the moment so I did what was in my power to do to improve the graphics(besides learning how to draw, which I did try and failed horribly). I went over each sprite in the game, Rescaled each one using a new method, cell shaded them by hand(took forever. Over 800 sprites). Took out the sprites that did not match and inserted new ones. Also took out the blurry backgrounds. The game looks so much better now I am kind of embarrassed by the current version. I am sure everyone will enjoy the new graphics. The sharp pixel look can be appreciated better in the larger devices, but even in my iphone 4 the graphics are way better and larger.

    From a gameplay perspective here are the changes:

    Monster modifiers: Many modifiers added. Monsters can be easier/harder. Harder enemies provide more loot, easier enemies provide the same loot. Modifiers can be reviewed in the log when a monster has been id'ed.

    Fortify has been improved to make it more attractive: Base buff and heal increased by 6, so even at base level fortify is a great buff and heal.

    Morph: all ITEMS have had their morph resistance drastically lowered. It will be much easier to morph out a crappy item/trap in exchange for a better one.

    Item appearance rebalanced: Less useful items will appear slightly less frequently, armor and sword slightly raised.

    Initial Identify raised: Will make ID'ing monsters/items a lot easier at the start of the game.

    Overall difficulty lowered at the start. This will decrease frustration. I managed to down an elder once in the 6th life. Difficulty does scale as usual.

    More starting skill uses. Extra skill uses for many skills.

    Information in log reviewed to be clearer.

    Gold investemnts DO NOT STACK anymore. If you invest a more expensive treasure it will override the lesser one. Lesser treasures will automatically be looted if current investment is better.

    Next up. Animations and spell effects. I believe I can have animations in a month/month and a half. Will replace current agility stat. Now agility protects you from purple attacks. Those will be gone in order to make the game easier to understand. Just red/physical and blue/magical attacks. Agility will determine who strikes first, the templar or the monster. This will allow you to kill the mob without suffering possible damage if fast enough.

    Please post any questions here. Again even though this is not the graphics overhaul, it is quite an improvement. More cool stuff lined up for the future.

    Game update s live

    Hello everyone.

    Game update has just been approved and should be available. See post above for patch notes. If you have any questions please let me know. Animations and spell effects will be added sometime in may. After that you can expect plenty of balance/content patches. Besides quests I do want to add either more skills so you can choose different load outs for different quests or a new character with diff skills. I think choosing skills might be a better option.

    Glad you liked the update

    Animation and effects will help tremendously. Next patch should be fun. Expect it at sometime in May. Here are a few more examples of changes to item upgrades. New vs old. The necklace sprites which did not match a whole lot were switched for helmet sprites which do fit better. Again all sprites are much more crips and sharp. Less blurriness. Will post some backgrounds later on.

    Hello everyone,

    Hope you are enjoying the update. I have received some pretty positive feedback so far.
    For those of you that follow Shaun Musgrave's @RPGReload, be advised that codes for Templar Infinite crusade will be given out within the next couple of days, so keep an eye out for those. Hopefully more people will be able to play the game.

    If you have any questions about the game please let me know, I would be more than happy to answer them.

    P.S. the work on animations is progressing very well. Next update is aimed for mid/late may. Animations/spell effects and probably a boss/rare monster only rush mode. Non random so some strategies can be applied. Difficulty scales very rapidly allowing for very very very short games jejeje.:D
