    Thanks for the feedback Amenbrother. I mostly designed the game to be a truly Mobile experience. Quick and satisfying. You can sit around and play it for an hour or two if you want, but I wanted it to be quick enough to sneak in a game in a minute or two and feel like you powered up a bit.

    Working on improvements currently. Plan to submit a patch mid january with some fixes. Graphics will update later on. Hopefully by the end of the month or mid Feb.

    Glad you are enjoying the game. Feel free to post more feedback later on. I apologize that the game does look like it lacks polish. This being my first game I though it was fine, but honestly "fine" is not enough now days. Will polish this game a bit more before working on a Templar infinite crusade 2 or another game. Gonna learn as much as I can from this one before working on another project.

    Pretty cool that if you attack with a bow, sword, magic attack, or use a shield it shows it on your character.

    Hi Dr_Nachin,

    First of all, congrats on the release of your first game, and thanks for the code. I have played it for a bit during the weekend, and I have to say I liked it quite a bit. Initially I was slightly lost, but shortly after I started leveling up my Templar I started making more progress and feeling more empowered. I have just reached my first Elder One, was demolished but am looking forward to trying it out again :)

    Some thoughts I had, which you may consider for this or the next game, and some questions as well:

    - Given the nature of the game (i.e. short burst play sessions), I feel it would benefit from being able to be played with one-hand only. That would mean coming up with some sort of portrait-orientation, but I believe it would potentially benefit the game, as long as you could reach all things with your thumb. Right now, in landscape, people need to hold it with both hands, even though most of the work is done by one hand only, tapping most of the time the same buttons. Something you may consider, I'm not sure exactly how.
    - After playing the game a few times you'll know the meaning for the actions, but until that happens, for new players (and also for leveling up), you might want to have the option for long-holding a button explain what it does. Just a thought.
    - Some typos in the log: I've seen "Morhp" a few times, and "Loose Gold" should be "Lose Gold". Not a big deal at all, but thought I'd bring it up :)
    - The system bar shows on my iPhone 4, on top of the game screen. Just a small niggle, but it's noticeable. Running the latest iOS version available for the iPhone 4 (iOS 7.something).

    Some questions now:
    - I can't seem to flee battles, even though it was covered in the tutorial. How does that work?
    - Any way to see your current distance covered during the game?
    - The bonuses shown in the log for each creature refer to *your* bonuses against the creature, or the bonuses they have against your attacks? For instance, if it says "Sword Bonus GREAT" means that if you attack with a sword you'll have a great bonus, or that they have a great bonus against my sword attacks? I assume it's the first option, but wanted to confirm.
    - "Invest" isn't clear from the beginning. I just noticed what it meant at one time point when I opened the log by chance in a treasure I had identified.

    All in all, I am having quite a good time with the game.

    I wonder, even though the game does state "Infinite", does it have a proper end? If not, would it make sense to have an end, say, after X Elder Ones? (7? 10? 20?)

    And, consequently, a "Restart"/"New Game+" button, where you'd start a new Templar somehow?

    Just a thought.

    Grats on your first elder kill. Sorry it took so long to respond was quite busy today. Will try to answer all your questions.

    - The game in beta used to be in portrait mode and could be played with on hand, but the feedback from the playtesters was not very positive regarding this layout. After the switch to landscape the playtesters all agreed it was better.

    - quick descriptions/tooltips for buttons descriptions are in the list of things to add. Will help beginners.

    - I was aware of the loose gold typo but not the "morph" one so thanks for pointing it out. Will look into this ASAP.

    - progress bar does show in iPhone 4s for some reason, but not the rest of the devices. Will look into this.

    Some questions now:

    - To flee battles, you can press the escape button. On the iPhone 4 you have to slide the buttons left by grabbing the top of the button bar. It is a problem apparent with the smaller screen devices. I am sorry about this but i did not want to make buttons smaller :D.


    -I left the current distance out on purpose to raise the tension a bit. How far are you to the boss? How many items or spells can I use or save for the boss? You kind of get a hang of the distance by playing. Not knowing adds fun/tension to the game. It makes gameplay less Mathematical and more gut driven.


    - All the bonuses are your skills vs the Creatures. Even Defense is your defense vs the creatures. I will see if I can word it in a clearer fashion.

    - Will see how I can describe invest in a better fashion.

    The game truly never ends just increases in difficulty, but I am going to introduce a newgame+ mechanic to keep games short and difficult. Having to walk 400 steps to reach a boss kind of defeats the Mobile experience I have in mind. Also a story/quest mode will be introduced later on. More details will be forthcoming.

    Hope you are enjoying the game.

    Game is out worldwide already. :D. Being a one man indie, and my first game I was not able to promote the game a lot. Mostly forums.Was talking to Shaun Musgrave(he reviews most if not all RPGs here in Touch arcade, and does a great job at it too),he played and liked the game and might mention it here on Touch arcade but no guarantees. I am glad he at least played it so the game is not unknown to the media.

    Along with the graphics upgrade (hopefully this month or the next), I will also create a trial version that will allow folks to play the game some for free before deciding to purchase the game. That might get me some more exposure:D.

    I am happy most of the feedback has been positive. I think its a great way to begin :D.

    Thanks for the replies, it all makes sense. Some comments then:

    - Orientation: sounds good, I'm happy it was tested out.
    - Flee button: sounds good. I wouldn't want to make the buttons smaller at all, but the "slide buttons" thing is not explained at all - the button shows in the middle of the screen in the tutorial, hence the confusion. Maybe explaining the sliding movement on the tutorial and have the player do that would help. Maybe even having a small arrow button on the right, on top of the right-most button (morph?) would help signal that there's more there.
    - Distance: I am comfortable with this decision. It was just a thought.
    - Invest is well explained in the log, and I guess in the help file to some extent. I might have just missed that then, sorry.
    - Looking forward to the story mode! I don't think it needs a real proper long story - but a mode that's actually finishable would be helpful. and I do agree, 400 steps to reach a boss might be kind of against the purpose :) Well, I wouldn't mind if you would save the game state every time you walked a step, so you could continue afterwards.

    Speaking of that, I find that the game crashes quite a bit when it's at the main menu, the phone shuts down, and then I re-open it after a while. Maybe it's because I open it in a different orientation, or because I'm offline, but it does crash. It's not a big deal since I'm not losing any progress, but it's something worth looking into. Is it just me?

    Hello

    Pjft,I have not received any other reports of the game crashing on the menu/start screen. I will look into it. I have had few reports of the game closing/crashing will on a run, and I have tried to duplicate said issue but have been unable too. Crashes seem rare(they should be inexistent but o well :D).

    Story/quest mode should be fun as these will be predetermined runs which will allow you to plan ahead to overcome mobs. Was also thinking of adding a rare-only/boss only mode. See how many you can kill in a row. Non-random so its a fair race. Will keep everyone posted regarding the new art and future updates.

    Got more codes to give out. Just post here. All I ask in return is feedback and to tell other folks if you like the game.

    These look good!

    After playing for a while longer, and knowing that there are hidden buttons to the right, I do wonder if we couldn't just make the buttons slightly slimmer on the iPhone 4 to prevent having to scroll all the time.
