Is there a possibility of: -Speeding up the enemy's turn -showing range of walking distance when selecting a unit Minor issues so far for what is otherwise a great game with substantial depth. Looking forward to digging in
So glad that this game and in particular these developers are getting the attention they deserve, they have more than earned it.
Better than hunters and death wing et al This is a great game. For me, it's better than the above. Sure wh40k has better production values and a far slicker finish but this has the gameplay. Firstly levels are non-randomised regurgitated templates like the hunters games. There's a story with RPG-lite conversations with npcs and genuine mission selection. Second, unit progression is deep with stats improvement, equipment (and I love the way it shows what stats gun X uses) and skills (in-game actions) all driven by a tech tree that you unlock as you go along (similar to a 4x / civ game). It's the first game I have played in 35 years where I research before upgrading my people. Different style of missions. I won't spoil it but some missions offer fairly unique approaches. Regarding graphics, I think they do a good job for the budget these guys have and look nicer in retina. I haven't played any of their other games before but will be checking them out.
I want to get the devs other games as well as I got this one...are they all compatible with iOS 9? And are the other games done being updated? If they are, that's fine I'm just curious, star traders looks neat.
Wow, this game looks awesome, and with the endorsement of my fellow toucharcadians, this is instabuy. No IAPs is good, maybe I'll finally be able to delete deathwatch and reclaim that 1.5 GB. Anyway, congratulations to the devs, you seem to be three outstanding guys, and I wish you all the best.
I liked Hunters but thought it was shallow and repetitive, this sounds more up my alley. Given the Dev support, track record and no IAP I'm in. Once more I breach my 'play what you've already got before buying something else' directive.
Yes to all the above, for star traders 4x. Ever since i bought it it's never been deleted off my iPad, and never not worked. It's received something like 20+ updates, some minor, most major. Can't speak for heroes of steel or the original star traders, but people seem to love HoS.
The answer would very likely be "yes" except for the original Star Traders, which is a shame. If you have an Android device, though, they're all still very much being updated, but Star Traders was their first game, and the iOS version was a port - as in, they created a new codebase - which means that maintaining both and keeping both up to date proved to be a pain that ended up not being worth the effort. For all the other games, they built their own cross-platform engine, though, so yes, both are updated with similar cadence, get a fair bit of updates (one every couple of weeks, if not more often), and will keep being updated as far as I'm aware. Star Traders on Android is still being updated to this day, and it's like 5 years old? fallen - correct me if I'm wrong, there Also, "yes" to all the suggestions here.
Open up the options and you can turn on "Fast Speed Enemy Turn" -- that will make it whip by. The range of walking distance is on our list to add in future updates.
All of our games are compatible with iOS 9. If you have any issues, please let me know. We are still updating all of the games on iOS (ST RPG, ST 4X Empires, Heroes of Steel). Due to its technical backstory, ST RPG receives update at a slower pace than Android, where the other three are generally getting an update either bi-weekly or monthly (due to Apples review period).
The art is waaaay better suited for a mobile device than, say, the Warhammer games. It's crisp, clean (like all Trese Bros. games), and won't burn your battery to the ground while you play. Edit: oops, quoted the Dev response to a gamer rather than the gamer's post. Sorry for confusion.
Thank you, I will pass that on to Martin - he will be happy to hear it Of all the mobile platforms, iOS renders very sharply, smoothly and beautifully.
Not sure if it's been mentioned, but option to disable music doesn't save properly. Anytime the app sleeps or is restarted, despite the option menu indicating music is muted, it restores. When this happens, you have to unmute, then mute it again. This has to be done every time you play. Not a huge issue, but tedious. The music isn't bad necessarily, just short and very relative.
@gmattergames - we have heard that bug report, been able to reproduce it, and we are hoping to have that fixed in the next update.
Oh crap, my bad. Really sorry for this -- ... in the next update, please see the options screen. Honest mistake, very sorry. With Apples' review time to get a new game approved, we had to submit the v1.1.13 release some time ago. The "Fast Enemy Turn" option has been added in the intervening weeks. I will post a full change log for what is coming soon here in a bit.
