My rules: 1) don`t buy unnecessary stuff! (most important) 2) NEVER go hungry for groceries (really important) 3) Make bigger shoppings, but seldom Optional: Make grocery list for a whole week (with planning meals - but it`s hardcore edition of savings ) BONUS: *NEVER LET your fiance/gf/so to take your card or let her "buy what you want"*
I am a coupon gal. Sometimes I purchase $1200. Worth of groceries for 20 or 30 bucks! I have a large family so I had to learn about couponing a long time ago. It's quite exhilarating when you see the receipt going lower instead of higher. On average, for a family of 10 and sometimes more ( because I do foster care) I average approximately $50.00 a week for groceries. Which is really good considering that in my family, I have a kiddo that is allergic to milk protein. (So nothing baked with milk) and a couple of vegetarians, including myself. It is a lot of work though.
@Up Are you from US? I heard about theirs coupon craziness. In europe i don`t heard about that lowering bills with coupons.
I am in the U.S. I am not one of those crazies you see on TV. I am just patient. I collect and save the coupons then use them at the same time that there is a sale. Simple.
