(Skullgirls needs more love. IJ2 is kinda garbage) Asp Well-Known Member Aug 3, 2017 769 196 43 #3 Asp, Feb 28, 2018 I wasnt much good at console fighters, not having the patience for button mashing and combo learning. So Im enjoying this streamlined version so far because I can actually play it. There is nothing to learn really, just swipe and tap the screen to attack and defend, and collect stuff to upgrade the fighters. The combo card system is a good addition though, adding some depth and variation to experiment with and, of course, it makes the playing of combos easy. I guess some will complain that its not a full console implementation, but the laid back combat works for me. Instead we get star graded fighter cards and move cards that are random drops from lootboxes. I guess everyone who got it during the soft launch knew this already. I had no idea. Ryzaerian Well-Known Member Aug 29, 2017 65 4 8 #5 Ryzaerian, Mar 2, 2018 Im enjoying it. The only notable downside is the long healing process, with damage being persistent across fights and maps. You can of course minimize damage taken by playing well, and buy healing kits with IAP. I saw the reviews on the appstore and most of them are extremely positive. Ryzaerian Well-Known Member Aug 29, 2017 65 4 8 #7 Ryzaerian, Mar 3, 2018 Negative. It checks for a network as soon as it loads. HotHamBoy Well-Known Member Feb 1, 2015 204 4 16 #8 HotHamBoy, Mar 3, 2018 The biggest misconception about fighting games is that you are either mashing buttons or memorizing combos to succede. That's not how you get good or enjoy fighting games. You should not mash buttons and you should not worry about pulling off combos or special moves. Just learn when to use the right attack for the right situation, learn to block and play defensively, don't flail around. If you can do that then you are better than 2/3 of the people you'll play against and you'll start having fun. Asp Well-Known Member Aug 3, 2017 769 196 43 #9 Asp, Mar 3, 2018 I dont think it ever occurred to me to play defensively. Anyway, this version has got me interested in Tekken again so Ill fire up the Dreamcast over the weekend, if it still works, and see if I can do a better job. Ryzaerian Well-Known Member Aug 29, 2017 65 4 8 #10 Ryzaerian, Mar 3, 2018 This summary is so accurate that I almost resent you for posting it. Almost. Quit giving advice to the enemy. Jokes aside, this is probably my favorite mobile fighting game ever. The combat is smooth and strategic, and the Waza system makes things even more interesting. ramzarules Well-Known Member Sep 13, 2014 2,112 128 63 Greece #11 ramzarules, May 5, 2018 if you are thinking of checking it for Akuma, let me help you: 1) get Akuma token through event grind or real cash 2) spend these tokens on lootboxes containing random crap and fighter shards, with an INCREASED CHANCE for the random crap or shards to be Akuma related, and a small chance to get a full Akuma fighter. The latest and probably top3 games of this type that stay away from the fighter shards and instead still give full fighters, are Skullgirls, MarvelCoC and Mkx. At least there if you spend money/time you know you are getting your fighter, not 5/500 shards to complete him/her. Anyway, here was just some info along with my opinion in case it saves anybody the download time etc. Jean pierre Well-Known Member Mar 24, 2017 320 2 18 #12 Jean pierre, May 5, 2018 BANDAI NAMCO ?
