Universal Teeny Titans (by Grumpyface Studios & Cartoon Network)

Discussion in 'iPhone and iPad Games' started by metalcasket, Jun 23, 2016.

  1. Late game, I started realizing that (besides Robo Brother), it seems the characters with a physical attack (no charge-up) first are the most useful. Maybe I need to do more testing, but it seems like most physical attacks that take time to build up just aren't worth it. Maybe enhancing the skills helps, but as basic skills, they just seem weak. Three turns to power up? Or ones that can be interrupted?

Wonder Raven is great Bc the attack/Heroic Pose are reversed compared to so many others.

I also like Trigon Bc he has the big Soul Punch as his first skill (which seems to be hard to dodge). Raven has it as the second skill instead. I don't think there are too many Titans like Trigon/Wonder Raven, especially early on. The final battles were tough (especially when I tried to not use RBB), but for the most part it seems "teamwork" and supportive roles are overrated? Is it just me?

Physical is the way to go. Speedy wth the chip that gives auto dance basically solo'd the game for me. I pumped his strength and luck and it was Easy Mode.

    Super fun game!

I downloaded the game today and found myself playing for a few hours straight. It has been a while since I have played such a fun game. Thank you!

Definitely agree on Wonder Raven. She's been in my squad since the start, basically, and is the first I got to 20. I gave her the instant dance mod chip and she sets the tone early if not outright cleaning up the room. And, yes, I am biased toward the early (non purple) physical attackers too.

Late game the power ups really don't matter much anymore. Why use even +4 or 5 when you can attack twice in the same time as a charge?

The cat deflection and bubble are interesting, and can be very useful when fighting ba'wana on his little island, for example, because he can hurt for 20+ damage.

Some characters like cat beast who have two non attack abilities are useful to power up dodge and life, and have them in place while he meter charges. Same goes for dr. Light with his bubble as extra protection—it doesn't cost much to use and it's safe to apply when your opponent has maxed out their meter.

There is that dodge doubler—will that go over 45 dodge? Wondering how hard those limits are.

Love the game but I somehow got stuck while talking to the clam on the beach. I physically cannot walk away. I've waited for the day / night to change, I've beat the NPC, I've closed the app... Nothing. I don't want to uninstall by chance I loose my save... Any suggestions?

Try swiping instead of tapping and you should be able to break free -- it's only the Tap To Move that gets stuck in this spot (which will be fixed in an update soon)

Yeah this is correct. Characters with non-charging damage skills as their first skill end up to be the most powerful with damage/luck stats. A bar charge with Cyborg followed by 15,000 of those other character's first skill is GG.

Multiverse Cyborg loses 10hp on a bar charge, but he fills it up to full. Characters like speedy and 80s Raven can have a field day after that. Trigon seems to be the most powerful.

Registered for an account just to post this: I bought the game when it was released (Thursday night?) and I just completed it - 70/70 characters. WHAT DO I DO NOW?!

Just kidding, next up - to complete the game with characters I didn't use the first time. I won the game with a combination of Robin, Cyborg's Head, Speedy, Kid Flash/Starflash and Wonder Raven. Kid Flash/Starflash to activate dance, charge up attack with Robin or Wonder Raven, either Robin, Speedy or Cyborg's Head to pummel them into submission.

Grumpyface - this is an amazing game, I hope we get either DLC or a DC-focused game. I think $4 is the perfect price point, and I'd be happy to pay it again for a future release! I wish DC would release something similar for Facebook a la Marvel Avengers Alliance, hopefully this is proof that it can work.

End the game with only robot's head. Start off upgrading all characters and complete the collection.

Game is fun, a bit too easy tho but i think we most enjoy walking around the map.

Despite the game being a little too easy for hardcore gamers, and still relatively easy for most, this is easily one of the best games that the appstore has to offer.

An absolute blast to play, and and that actually motivated me to play from start to finish, and still drives me to keep playing and level up more characters to tinker around with more crazy setups.

I think, rather than the first skill high damage characters, the second skill dmg + stun like argyle trigon combined with low level disco (Aquaman) is stronger as it is a permastun that also decreases the charge bar of the opponent, they practically can not do anything, IMO the second most powerful next to RBB.

The opponents needs to have a higher evasiveness to nerf these kind of tactics.

Overall though, charge up skills are slightly underwhelming. The ones that require three activations should do much more damage, shouldn't be dodgable by default, and get a decent secondary effect.
The other charge up skills are actually not that bad when upgraded and a proper chip.

I would like to see more variety in chips. The choices are quire limited (too many crappy chips, not enough amazing chips). Would be great if chips made certain strategies good alternatives to what we have now.

Let me start by echoing the wonderful praise I've seen from others. Teeny Titans is not only the best Pokemon-like game on the App Store, it is one of the most fun experiences I've ever had on a mobile device. The writing and polish are outstanding, the variety of characters, moves, and customizations creates a fantastic set of depth and choice, and the game truly delivers a balanced premium experience at a very modest price point. I can only hope that the app does well enough to add more updates, but I don't want them for free - charge some IAP for new areas and corresponding characters and game play.

I finished the game more slowly than the suggested time, probably spending 13-15 hours leisurely building up characters, replaying tournaments, and wandering the world. I found myself getting hooked walking around and picking up the coins and figure packs that reside in the (random?) sparkle spots on the map, especially when watching the time clock for the next exclamation mark (hoping it will be a 50% off sale for a store with some of the figures I wanted).

I've never watched the show and am not a huge DC comics fan, but I loved the personality of the game and may go watch the show now. Lack of knowledge of the characters and show didn't impact my enjoyment at all.

One quick question though - has anyone posted a list or screenshots of all characters from the wiki? I'm at 67/70 characters and believe I have bought everything I've seen in stores, defeated all enemies, and completed all quest lines I have seen (but clearly missed one somewhere since I don't have that achievement yet).

I'll close with a huge set of praise for Grumpyface Studios - Teeny Titans sets a new high standard of how to take existing IP and turn it into a fantastic gaming experience.

What a great game! I just finished all of the available quests and got all 70 "figs" and had a blast doing it. I'm very much looking forward to any additional content and wanted to congratulate Grumpyface on a job well done!

Thanks again for the amazing praise and feedback all -- we read every bit of it, and can't tell you how happy it makes us to see people enjoying our work!

The next update is looking good -- hopeful to have it in everyone's hand before/by the end of the week. It should fix all known issues, plus it includes some much needed character balance to ensure the last half of the game isn't easier than intended. We've also increased the difficulty of the final tournaments.

Talaen: There's a chance your missing characters may be related to some bugs that will be fixed this week, especially if they are in the Multiverse section of the Wiki. The following characters have questlines that can get 'stuck' in the current verison (but will fix themselves when you download the update):
Cyborg, Beast Boy, Starfire, Raven, and Gizmo
