The first thing i thought of was this:
"The human body generates more bio-electricity than a 120-volt battery and over 25,000 BTU’s of body heat. Combined with a form of fusion the machines have found all the energy they would ever need." - Morpheus The Matrix

This technology is horrifying and must be destroyed before the machines take over and we all find ourselves trapped in The Matrix. Hopefully the first Matrix and not the crappy sequels.

Scientists hope that as the nanotechnology used in the chip evolves, it could lead to electronics which don't require batteries or mains power:eek::rolleyes::eek:

Well why dont they hurry up then?! I just got the 'less than 20% battery' remark!

Wish they would hurry up as well I keep hearing about how nano batterys are going to let devices run for weeks I own so many mobile devices and most of them I love everything but the fact the battery doesn't last as long as I'd like.

Devices I own and battery lives

    Samsung z5 mp3 player = about 35 hours
Ipod = Needs to be charged at least once a day depending on what I'm doing
Samsung NF110 Netbook = 11 hours (it really gets this great little machine)
    Archos 404cam = Media player/Camcorder (video about 4 hours)
Sony PSP 2000 (about 5 hours)
Screwdriver mk2 ENI (Electric Cig about 10 hours)
And probably lots of other things I don't use that much

Basicly I rely on batterys constantly and I guess so does everyone else a breakthrough there I'd appreciate more than anything else.

I was also reminded of Parasite Eve and the idea of mitochondria producing tons of power...maybe ipods need tiny parasites in them to generate energy for us?
