Hi everyone! Here's a few screenshots of my upcoming game Tasty Tadpoles. I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts on it so far. The concept is simple, lead your little tadpole to safety and don't get eaten! To control him, you simply tap anywhere in the pond to make him swim. These screenshots are all from the first pond "Garden pond", there will also be 2 other ponds released with the first version, Murky and Amazon with 25 levels in each! A little about the development so far: After toying around with a few smaller games and working for some great companies including Firemint & Millipede Creative, I decided it was about time to try and create something really fun myself. I began by building some prototypes with some pretty ugly graphics in order to get the game mechanic perfect. This took about a month to get right. Once that was done I went ahead and started building in all the features like the enemies and stars. I purposely left all the graphics until the end in order to make sure the game would be fun, even when it wasn't looking that pretty. So far Ive been through 2 testing phases which provided a heck of a lot of feedback and forced me to make a lot of changes to the game. I'm now beginning to add in the nicer looking graphics (like what you can see in the screenshots), after which I will probably do another round of testing before release. Tasty Tadpoles is the biggest project I've attempted by far and I'm thoroughly looking forward to getting it out there and seeing people play it! Again, Id love to hear what everyone's impressions of it are so far. Cheers, Mark White PS Stay tuned as Im planning to post a hands-on preview video soon! Hey guys, I made a quick video so you can get a better feel for the gameplay! Would love to know what everyone thinks.
If anyones interested in following my progress I've set up http://twitter.com/TastyTadpoles and http://www.facebook.com/pages/TastyTadpoles/224703917596226 and I'll be posting updates as I continue my work!
I like your minimalistic graphics. Would be interested to see a more challenging level, to see how the levels evolve.
Thanks so much for the feedback Red1. A few people have asked to see the same thing so Ive created another quick video to show off some of the more difficult levels in Tasty Tadpoles:
