Had the same issue. I deleted the app and reinstalled it. Since it was quite at the beginning I didn't loose much, but it was the only thing that helped. Now I am advancing as I should. Really like that there is a story and the events keep things interesting. Well done!
TA, Thanks so much for the interest so far. We never expected the game to receive as much attention as it is getting. It seems there are some issues arising already we need to address soon. First of all we apologize for the iPad support. We are a very small team that doesn't get to work together much, and we were just focusing our time on launching an iPhone game, but we already are looking into porting an iPad screen equivalent soon. Being a small team with limited time, we didn't get to test as many devices as we wanted, and we really only tested and optimized the game for the iPhone 6. There are a lot of asynchronous database interactions at a frequency we didn't realize would cause hiccups on some older devices, and we are looking into ways to refactor some of this code to be more compatible for everyone. Thanks again for the continued interest and informing us on some of the current issues, we will address these soon and look forward to improving the game and adding more content. We already have had a complaint that the game is too short.. we didn't think people would even finish it, so thanks to those people that have completed the game and look forward to more innovative content in the near future.
I'm on the Spoiler mothership stage and it takes a looooong time for the game to register that I bought an upgrade. This happens every time except for the first upgrade I buy after hard closing the app.
Yeah, playing on a 6+ so I'm not getting any bugs, but this is the first clicker in a long while that has kept my attention. For me, they NEED some sort of hook befond 'watch numbers get bigger,' and games like this and the old standby Cookie Clicker achieve it with a slowly unfolding background story. Bought noads and doubleclick. Good stuff.
Aw man, it's over? The tap-doubler might be a little too strong. Finished the story, best I can tell, the first time through. Had fun though! Here's hoping for future updates!
Also finished it. No doubler, think it took roughly 5 or so hours of active play. I noticed the prestige icon in the corner and was hoping it would still go up a level even if I beat the end boss but alas no such luck.
Thanks everyone for the honest feedback. We have noticed so far 3 main trends on what we are hearing back: - Need iPad support - Some random crashes and hiccups - Wanting more content Our current prestige system only sets in when you die, and we are learning quickly this is something that needs to change. We are thinking of a better way to keep the game playable (and we might add in some original new content as well). We sincerely apologize to anyone that has had a negative experience in trying to download the app or play it. We are a small team that does not get to spend much time working on our projects together (some of us have full time work outside of it) and we are still learning and a work in progress. Tap Transcend has already transcended our expectations of what we had in mind. We agree we might have launched it a little too soon and could have considered a beta round of users prior. We have learned a lot these last few days and we expect to make Tap Transcend a better experience overall once we get back to work on it. Thanks
Great game, devs! I came in to say as much and inquire about the Flame of Rebirth, but I see someone beat me to it. So is that intended to give a boost if you fail at the very end? And if they doubles your score as it sounds, wouldn't that negate purchasing the doubler? I'm sure I just don't understand how that works. Speaking of things that I don't understand, how does the ship's blast work? It seems to 'blast' a big chunk of damage, but the upgrade text ('upgrade to 32 seconds') doesn't make sense. Was it originally intended to add to the timer? I echo the request for more content. The game flows great, all the way up until the very end. It felt like there should have been some content in-between building the space station and encountering the mother ship. As it is, you get a ship merely to reach the final encounter, but the flow of the game up to that point had me expecting a little more, before the big fight. I guess you're doing pretty well when my only complaint is wanting more I also agree that the doubler may be a tad too potent. Maybe jack up the later-game point values up a bit? That would stretch out the game and further incentivize the doubler IAP. Looking forward to what comes next!
Yeah, echoing what others have said. If my big complaint with a game is damn, wish I had more, then you're doing something right. I've paid my money, and happily. Take your time, I'm looking forward to what you add on to this.
Oh, one more observation/question: when I start over again, the fist icon (with TAP underneath) doesn't go away. Looks like the hand of God in orbit around the planet I assume that's a bug? EDIT: Looks like this went away after I went and did something else, then went back into the game.
It is good to hear that some people are really enjoying our game! We will let you know that we are putting our new project on hold to get out an update to Tap Transcend first. L0ck - thanks so much. We are open to any suggestions.. We are focusing more on fixing the problems first and then on additional content to make the game even better than it is now. Duranki - you are right.. it looks like you found a bug (I swear it is impossible to be bug free on V1 no matter how hard you try). Just close the app and when you reopen the magical hand will be gone Seriously to anyone that has enjoyed our game, please feel free to post any suggestions in this thread. We already have some potential ideas from some users but are interested to see what TA has to say.. Thanks!
Yeah sorry I meant to say I really enjoyed the story and all. It's a bit short and I was hoping to use the prestige system. If you wanted to fix it the super cheap and lazy way all you'd have to do is change the boss's timer to one hour instead of 24. Might make some players upset though
ineptitude - I like how you're thinking. That would definitely make stage 3 a lot more difficult to complete and make the prestige more sensible.. but I also agree it might be a little harsh. That is definitely some good insight though.. we already are back to work on Tap Transcend. Any recommendations on a possible stage 4? So far we were thinking since you leave the main planet, to enter a new solar system and terraform some planets and build a new civilization (still some concepts right now)
I think it would make the most sense to insert some content between building the ship and encountering the mothership. If stage 1 is Genesis and stage 2 is planetary development, the current stage 3 needs to be more like stage 4 or 5. Agreed that a good revised stage 3 might be a Star Trek-lite approach. Explore new systems, encounter more decision events. Seeding new systems could be stage 4. Then, at the end of your travels, finally encounter the mothership.
Guys we have some exciting news.. we finally got our hands on an iPad (believe it or not ) to test what was causing the crash and we fixed it within minutes. We plan to submit this update as soon as possible but are going to fix a couple little bugs too.. We will try to expedite the update tomorrow with Apple. Duranki - we will probably submit this patch update quick first so some iPad users can get in on the experience and hopefully we can change some people's minds and reviews on the game.. we will keep you posted on our next steps as far as enhancing the game, we are definitely about to make some changes to the game.
That would make perfect sense. Especially that it fits so well with the modern clicker games. I like where this is going. Billy
