Hi Roy & Arashi541, Thanks for you advice man. You know, I'm a little bit game maniac...that makes me never stop pressing the button when relating to shooting, jumping or something else. This habbit hasn't been killed since the FamiCom times when I was a little child. So, keeping on pressing the botton is my personal thing, AAMOF, the game does support continuous shooting just by lightly tapping on the visual button as if the RED A and B pair above the BLACK pairs on FC's controller. I just mis-led you a little bit in the video. :| Since the rate of firing is different from one tank and the other, the interval for continuous shooting triggered by tapping will be different too. When talking about the items...errrr...too many items for player to choose. But, I believe hardcore players enjoy learning spontaneously if they do like the game. In game, only three slots are unlocked at the beginning when you run your basic tank fighting in battlefield...Player has sufficient time to familiar the system because tutorial and HELP section always do the real help. Furthermore, dual shock is kind of weird. We gave up this solution after trying at the begining. Full direction move and shooting in 2.5D game is not applicable. 4-direction shooting can still give out a lot of unexpectable pleasure. However we'd like to adopt your suggestion in the next 3D version of T.P.OL. Full dir move, full dir shooting. My explain do some help to you both?
Loading screen looks damn sweet! It would be nice if you made movement not linear. Instead of only being able to move up-down-left-right allow free movement. (like dual-stick shooters and stuff)
kk:] The game is a 2.5D one. Only numb TOP view in 2D can be developed to free movement. But the top-view-free-movement thing will reduce all the expressive characters player can see now, for example, moving animation the 'shaking' will be lost for sure. Maybe we can change the system to move 4-dir but shoot everywhere you want later.
New vids look great! That is what I thought when I saw the still shot for the video, however, in practice it didn't look too bad - you're mostly looking up/down/left/right from your tank - the diagonals don't matter as much in a game like this. Perhaps if they 'collapsed' i.e. the bubbles didn't display if empty, as you picked up buffs they would accumulate starting from the inmost open spot?
Looks fun. It does look like you'll have to be careful when engaging enemies while being careful not to be flanked. Unlike dual stick shooters where you can advance and retreat while firing, here if someone sneakily catches you from behind with a powerful weapon, you have to either run away or turn around and commit to a risky firefight. ...a few mines would have been nice.
hehe, you're right, mines and a special skill of an elite tank will do the thing you are about to engage.
