Hi. The last time we had a thread here about Tally Board, it generated quite some buzz on the forum. It was indeed a very popular thread, with great prices up to $100 gift cards. We saw people playing a single game for hours, getting bigger scores than we ever anticipated. The will be sort of a pre-contest. We need to get some feedback, and some more testers. Therefore, we will be giving away gift cards for random testers. For every 4th tester, we will add another 10$ gift card, and when there is 10 testers, we will add a $25 gift card. See the bottom of this post for requirements. (note, we have set a maximum of giveaways to $130) Here is a table showing how many prices there will be: Now, as we are preparing for a new contest with an upcoming version of this puzzle game, we would like to give people and early preview of the game. This could give you the edge when the the final version is out and we launch the real Tally Board contest. Tally Board is a math puzzler, but don't let the numbers scare you. This game is easy to get into, and with the new version, we have made it even easier. The game is inspired by such games as Threes, and 2048, but we have changed the formula a lot. As these games have shown to build a lot on strategy, they don't really include any math at all. Here is where Tally Board comes in. You can now add numbers together, or multiply. This gives the game a whole new aspect to challenge your brain. Don't worry if you are not good in math, this is just easy math, like 2+4=6, or 2x4=8. But as you add or multiply more numbers together, the challenge is increased. It's a great thing you have superpowers in the game to help you out when you are stuck. To sign up for testing the newest version, which is not yet available on the App Store, follow the link below. If you are familiar with TestFlight, then you already know what to do. And if you don't it is pretty easy. It requires iOS 7 Follow the link and create your account on TestFlight. Log in test flight from your iOS-device. TestFlight will prompt you to install a profile. This is basically just a key that will allow you to install Tally Board. See TestFlight for more info. After a few hours I should have been able to add you to the list of test-personell, and you will receive an e-mail with a link. Just follow the link to install Tally Board We are inviting everybody to test the new version. It should be quite stable, and polished. To be qualified for entering the competition and getting to the prices, the testers need to do the following: Get a score of atleast 1000 points(shouldn't take more than a minute) Use your username when you submit your score(if you have a short username, add "TA-" in front or something) Leave feedback either here, by mail, twitter, facebook or anything. Feedback should be more than "This is awesome" or "This sucks", but you don't have to write for hours either. A few short sentences about something you liked, or disliked, or what you think we should improve. EDIT: Closed for new registrations. If you have signed up already, you can still do the required steps and enter the competition. EDIT2. Contest has ended.
Signed up. As for comments, would "this game is fantastic and sucks" qualify as a valid comment?? (Yes that is a rhetorical question!)
Hehe, nice If you can make me laugh, I don't care what the comment is. Of course it would be great for Tally Board if everybody wrote "This game i fantastic because... " and "this game sucks because..." but I was never very strict about these things.
Enjoy playing the game again! I really dislike the ads in place, I find myself going to make a move it pops up and I end up tapping on them. Would much rather have banner ads instead. Overall the gameplay is great still, like the few little visual improvements (unless I'm seeing things but it looks different to me).
Sure, yeah,I hate ads too. But at some point I have to make some money. I can reduce the number of ads in the game withtout updating the game-file, so this will be taken into consideration. I have also tried to ignore accidental user-taps, I'll see if I can increase the threshold for this. I will also consider banners while in game. Do you think it is okey to have those full-screen ads while in the menus? I really don't want to annoy the users. Glad you liked the visual changes. Do you find the game more or less difficult now vs the old official version? I have changed how you earn and spend "superpowers".
Still enjoy playing this game. The changes to the 'Super Powers' are welcome, getting them more often has really helped me Just wondering, are they harder to get if you play the more difficult levels? I haven't found the ads too intruding, in an ideal world we wouldn't need them, but there we go... I would be wary of banner ads, as they would really interrupt play on 3.5" screens... I hadn't noticed any changes with the design! However a couple of things that I have noticed: * not sure if its a 4S only thing, but the status bar is visible over the top of the game, but only the text... Shown in the screengrab below, its actually black text and you can make it out with the red part of my battery * The amount of Super Powers you have slightly overwrites the name of the super power, for 'Free Move' and 'Swap Tiles' I will post my high score when I finish my game
The superpowers are tougher to get depending on the difficulty you choose. I really hate banners. They are always in the way. In the menus, sure they are okey, but while in-game, I think they are just terrible. I did do this in a previous version, where the ads would show up as a banner once every now and then, but I didn't like it. Also, there were so many weird ads for things gamers are not interested in. Who is playing a game, sees an ad for a car and thinks "that is exactly what I want, right now"? I'll look into the status-bar and see if I can somehow make it look a bit better. And I'll do something about the placement or coloring of the amount of SuperPowers. Thanks for the feedback.
Cant you just remove the status bar from being visible at all? Most games I play don't there and it doesn't bother me
Yeah, sure. I have made the changes, will upload a new build later today. Games are saved between versions, so don't worry about your current game when updating.
