Would love to play the game but unfortunately it seems bugged for me. Each time I start it up and go to create a character it says I am putting invalid characters for the name. And I'm using only letters..

Better than the first (Taichi Panda) but not as good as Age of Wushu (which has a ton more content). This game becomes increasingly gated as you get into the mid 20s-30s (levels), and the vast amount of nothing to do that is worth anything takes away from the stunning production values for this game. When you are running around the world and almost everyone over 30 has a Gold VIP title (which is quite expensive to get) you know you are in for a slog. The problem is that content is gated to your level (as you are not even allowed into areas in the "open world" until you pass the minimum level requirements, but the amount of times you can actually play a level is determined by your VIP level, so with a higher VIP level the faster you gain levels and the more content you have available to you.

There is also a pay-to-win aspect in the form of runes which basically make or break your levels but which can be bought with diamonds, a purchasable currency. Add to this the cliff-like increase in difficult at around the 3rd set of instances and you can burn through stamina pills as fast as you like, you aren't going anywhere for awhile.

Maybe the login rewards make-up for the delay as you go on, but so far I've been a bit bothered by the bragging of World Bosses and awesome heroes which are gated to an almost extraordinary level to players with either a lot of money or with a ton of patience. Presumably you can get these drops from enemies but I grinded enemies foreclose to an hour and barely got 1% in experience growth and around 2x gold what a 2-minute instance gives you.

There are team instances but the game seems to have tremendous difficulty putting you in groups. I haven't been in one yet but spent more than 10 minutes in queues on several occasions waiting to get in. I'm sure it's quite fun once you get inside since you probably aren't allowed to use auto battle function (just like Age of Wushu, which has a fantastic queuing system for team instances, almost instant).

It's free though, so it's a game worth keeping around to see what changes over time. The heroes are pretty cool and it feels like if you do manage to push into the 30s and 40s the game opens up in amazing ways. You can create multiple teams of different heroes and it feels absolutely rad to immolate enemies. There are voice overs for the main storyline and while they are weird, they really do add to the quirkiness of the game.

Even given the broken aspects of the game, there is clearly a lot of potential and if Snail keeps up the development it's going to be a great experience once your characters get rolling and you've unlocked enough characters to get some variety into your gameplay. The game world is huge (eventually) and you can actually traverse across the whole of it, just like in a modern MMO, and you pass by other characters in real-time.

The storyline isn't anything to be amazed by - big demon, lots of other little demons, a bunch of heroes who are chasing the big demon around the world. The boss battles are impressive, as they zoom into different views to give you a look as many of the bosses are gigantic and most have stunning designs (I fought a demonic pagoda, for example), but generally don't do anything special in the way of attacks other than area of effect damage and sometimes beams of light.

Try it out and give it a whirl if you haven't. It's small, gets off the ground quickly and by level 10 or so you'll have decided if it's something you want to stick around for.
