Hello, good people! I'm happy to announce that I'm about to release a trivia game for all of the Movie fans out there. I am currently checking some final issues and tweaking the scoring system a bit, and then I will submit it to Apple. Tagline Trivia is a game about speed and movie knowledge. A Tagline is a promotional slogan that is usually used for movies on the Movie Poster to intrigue. You are presented with the promotional tagline from a movie's poster and 6 answers to choose from. As time ticks by, you will get less & less points for that answer. The goal is, of course, to get the highest number of points, or the highest number of correct answers. If you're stuck, there are 3 clues you can use: - "Year", reveals the year the movie was released. After usage, it can't be used in the next question. - "2nd Tagline", reveals a second tagline for that movie. Not all movies have a 2nd tagline. After usage, it can't be used in the next 4 questions. - "50/50", removes 3 wrong answers of the 6. After usage, can't be used in the next 4 questions. Every time you get a correct answer, you have a chance to get a bonus to help you in the upcoming question. - Extra Time - Double Points - 1UP (you get an extra guess) Also, there are achievements & leaderboards (GameCenter & OpenFeint) to see how good you're doing! I've attached a couple of screenshots I made for the App Store. All the best! - itai -
Nothing, huh? Almost 50 views of the thread and just 5 people actually pressed "play" That's a bummer. Anyways, here are more screenshots that will be submitted to the AppStore.
You didn't tell us much about the game. The system looks deeper than just picking out the movie title.
You're right, melvin. First of all, Tagline Trivia is a game about speed and movie knowledge. You are presented with the promotional tagline from a movie's poster (often there is more than one tagline for a given movie) and 6 answers to choose from. You are given 18 seconds to pick the movie that belongs to that tagline. As time ticks by, you will get less & less points for that answer. The goal is, of course, to get the highest number of points, or the highest number of correct answers. The tagline conveys the essence of the movie. Sometimes it's more obvious, and often in a more sophisticated way. This is where your movie knowledge comes in.. Certain phrases that connect to the movie, or sentences that cleverly sum up the synopsis, are often found in a tagline, and you need to pick up on those and know where they are from. If you're stuck, there are 3 clues you can use, but each clue will reduce the points you will get for that answer. The clues are re-usable, but with some restrictions: - "Year", reveals the year the movie was released. There are 3 bonuses: - Extra Time - Double Points - 1UP (you get an extra guess) There are also Game-Center & OpenFeint leaderboards and achievements. There are 2 leaderboards: High Scores and Correct Answers. Every movie fan will enjoy it I will also edit the 1st post to include some more info. Thanks for the replies.
It's a good idea. Two things is important. Follow the hot point; Instant game center. Maybe It will become a party game. Go on. I'm watching you.
Thanks brandon. Btw, I've submitted Tagline Trivia to the AppStore. If all goes well, the game will be available really soon!
