Well, I was hoping to have ironed out a few more of the obvious wrinkles before posting a video but I think I have delayed it more than enough. Here is a video of the game play(the fast forward in the middle is to keep the video breif). I apologist for the fuzziness of the video. I am not sure how to get it to look better on YouTube.

I might replace it in some time once I have ironed out a few more of the kinks.

    Thanks Jamvert for the video.

Do you create your units from scratch or do you hire them somewhere? (I can't really tell in the video)

I guess I should have included that in the video. Like after that battle how I got to choose one of three items to acquire, after some battles you get to choose a new warrior.

You usually get to choose either one of two different warriors or a pot of experience for your party. You can see the warrior's starting levels and how their starting skill points are distributed and the experience pot is there so that if you don't want either of the warriors you can take it instead.

It isn't the most flexible system, but there are a lot more "new warrior" rewards than you need which allows you to be fussy. Though, I will have to see, when I get a few more people testing the game, if they find they get enough control over what party members they gain or not.

Oh, and for you starting units you just choose one of three starting parties:

    1 - Champion + Barbarian
    2 - Monk + Monk
    3 - Jungleman + Alchemist

This is an interesting system, where you can only pick from a few different warriors, but can be done at end of every battle. What is the maximum number of warriors you can have in your party at one time?

You can have 6 warriors during act 1, 9 during act 2 and 12 during act 3.

Right now I am debating whether I should give people a bit more compensation when replacing a warrior or not. The problem being, if you fill your party up early and then warriors you prefer come up later, it is quite a disadvantage to dismiss one of the warriors who has already soaked up a lot of your exp to get the new one.

Couldn't you make the warriors, rewarded later in the game, start at a higher level or with more experience already?

Yeah, that would be a fairly solid solution. They already start a bit higher later on but not enough right now. I think I might make it go up more.

I think what I might also do is when a warrior is dismissed because you have reach the max he "trains" the warrior who is replacing him with 50% of his total exp.

BTW, I'm glad to see interest in this game here :)

Okay, here is a new video. It is a bit longer and more up to date. I am also going to replace the video in the OP with it.

Well, I kinda hate to make another prediction on when it will be released, especially after my earlier release predictions on this thread fell through.

Adding up a reasonably conservative estimate of how long each thing on my to do list will take, I add up 9 days. However, with more play testing and perhaps when I expand the beta pool, the list might get a bit longer, so right now I would guess like 2 - 4 weeks plus the time for Apple to approve it.

    Hi JamVert,

Just wondering how your title is progressing? I know it been only one month since your last posting, but I thought I'd ask anyways.

Oh, right, sorry for not making a post sooner guys.

It has been coming along decently but, as usual, not as fast as I think it will. It is partly because is taking me a lot longer to adjust the difficulties of each battle than I thought it would.

On the plus side, one of the delays was because one guy who was testing it mentioned that he wished there was a shop and it made me realize the game could really use a shop. So, now there are shops that show up. They each offer a few different items which you can barter for. It also gives a use for your weaker items later on since you can trade in several of them for a good item.

I am still not 100% sure when to predict a submission to Apple. I basically just have to play through a few times on hard to set the difficulty(this is a long process), do a bunch more play-throughs and finish a handful of small thing.

I also kinda want to get some more beta testers to try it out but then am a bit hesitant that they might not have much time to get the game try it and get back to me before it is submitted. Also, the difficulty is only ironed out for about the first 1/3 of the game right now.

hi, it is like bomb man~i mean the layout and settings. Well,There ae so many games alike,i dn know which one to choose, and these muscular guys make me dazzling ....If it is played on a HD screen,it might be a little waste to have it played on. so i need to wait for a few days to see how well this game and other incoming games are sold. Discreet actions are always needed!
