Hmm, I find the healers potions are usually not cost effective enough to warrant their use. I find that the only attack I really use is gaze, because of the stun. I want to like the beast master , really I do, but against foes with armor or area effect attacks or regeneration (which is nearly every enemy towards mid to later game) he and his pets serve only as meat shields to blockade the enemy from reaching my more useful archers and ranged attackers. Also the fact that lupine strike costs extra stamina as you level up is ridiculous. And finally, maybe it's just me but... Why dogs? I want a master of beasts, damnit, not a dog walker. I wouldn't mind one dog, or wolf, but three/four? (I can't tell if the whelp is supposed to be a cat thing) What about even just lions or bears or snakes (so you wouldn't have to make new models). What about griffins or drakes or the like. On another note a centaur character would be sick. I'm only complaining cause I care so much.
Well, I don't think something quite that drastic is necessary. He is only supposed to be as powerful as any one single warrior. However, in another game I am working on right now, which has Tactical Warrior's combat mechanics, your main character will be able to summon pets, at a cost of stamina, should you choose to put those cards in his deck. The reason lupine strike's stamina cost goes up is because it was originally supposed to cost 40 stamina and be an attack worthy of 40 stamina. The beast master couldn't use this with his starting stamina amount, so at low levels I gave it a reduced stamina cost but also a much reduced power level.
the healers reprisal potion with a power stone will give you a surprise, i:m sure try this build gaze/healing potion/skill potion/reprisal potion breast plate/inspiration/potion stock by the way, the healer comes in act 3 carries padded armor which can:t be found from other healers, with lv8 padded armor and breat plate this healer got a 13/16/13 defence, you know what it means lol
then you only need 3 gladiators shield buckler x 10 then sword slash wait for one turn shield buckler x 10 then sword slash . . . . .
I think this game is better than Final Fantasy Tactics. However, I wish this game had a little bit more consistent party size limit, and that you could change your class like in FFT.
The gameplay is fun, but I don't like the graphics very much. But maybe that's a matter of taste. Changing it now is too late anyways.

nice to see the dev of the game in here btw, i just played the lite version after seriously doubting wether to pick this up or not since i jsut bought Shining Force.... let's just say Shining Force won't see my ipod for a while ;D Bought both Staunch Defense and Tactical Warrior today
2 games actually! Though neither is so close that I can post screen shots or say their name yet. They are both based on Tactical Warrior's battle system. Copy and paste games as the cynical might call them. One is a campaign based game like Tactical Warrior, but set in the future and with deck building mixed in. The other is a shorter game (probably sell for just $0.99) where you pick your party and defend yourself, in a village, from every increasing hordes of monsters to see how long you can survive.
sounds good!(specially that "set in the future and deck building" part) consider themselves bought once released really liking your games after finally being able to play them
Never get bored of this game...hope there will be extensive wiki one day about all active and passive ability for each level upgrade for each charachter lol
Some time I might put a little work in on the wikia myself. It is a shame wikia has so many ads though. The Japanese wiki has a lot of stuff in it. http://www16.atwiki.jp/tactical_warrior/pages/26.html#id_5ce0eaee It is in Japanese, but the attack and class names are the same and you can see a lot of the numbers for the different attacks.
Google translate works like a charm... Excellent site . That what I was looking for... Just google translate it to see full picture
