I wouldn't really say that, in this case it's (in one way) probably a valid complaint. It's been less complaining than expected, and most people seem cool enough about it once we get a chance to explain our reasons. :)

Ah, thought I read that weapons don't reset. That is a shame! Got to have some pretty heavy duty, high level weapons.. I wish I could have kept my load out!

How to take down the foreman?

Damn! The game is great, but Ive just spent 3+ hours on the mini boss called "Foreman" and I just can't kill him! Melee weapons wont work and everything else including granates barely scratches him while he does massive damage to me. Please give me a little help, I want to progress forward in the story...

There's probably several ways to do it, but the basics of it is you simply have to hit him enough. :D

    Posting my usual tactic below (so don't read if you don't want to know!);

First of all keep everyone away from his attacks at all times! I usually post a sniper somewhere across the river.

Next you should watch for when he gets enraged, this means for the next 2-3 turns he's going to follow whoever he's angry at. Just make sure that person stays out of range. For anyone else it's now safe to be close to him, so use that opportunity!

Grenades work, but you won't have enough of them so I usually use those to weaken the two loggers instead.

So, to recap; keep a sniper that always get in a shot every turn, keep your distance until he follows someone around. Then hit him with everything you got!

Wow, I can't believe that I didn't figure it out my self.. Thank you soo much it seems to work unless you block him with your friends. He's alive but I think I made some improvment :)

Ahh, right, yeah. You don't want to do that. :D
(at one point in development you COULD do that, in which case he would just stand there looking stupid, so we fixed it, heh)

Got him! Awesome fight once you get a hang of it. I tried to kite him around the forest area and that didnt work very well :) the area by the house was great once you got those lumberjacks out of the way. To bad that Ray got stuck without any life between new mobs that spawned once the foreman was gone.

Have you ever considered having the player move around items between units after you died and used a check point? That might be a nice way to prevent some unit from getting "locked" after starting over at a check point? Like a free inventory swapping when you respawn.

That's a pretty interesting idea, had not considered it before now, no. :D

    Stuck at Part 2: 4-2!

Got Part 2... Think it's a little pricey... And seems to be tougher than the first part... But maybe I just forgot how to play this game... ;) And personally I liked the parts better where it's tricky to cover ground, not so thrilled with the "let's make this hard by having 100 waves of zombies attack" approach...

In any case I am stuck at 4-2... So far I'm organized with all 3 behind the truck... Seems to give me the best cover from most angles... But sooner or later the zombies get to me... Am stuck there since last night... Any pointers?

    Thanks!

    Game Impressions

    Sorry, a little complaint...

Just started in on the second campaign... now, I am a pretty careful player, as you sort of have to be with this game. I always keep my guys grouped carefully, I check corners, I keep lanes of fire clear... you know, I play like you should.

Suddenly one of my guys has to replace a fuse, and off he runs to the other side of the board?! And even worse, my other guys don't go along to support him? Then, to top it off, suddenly a horde of zombies appear in places that I've already cleared, including between that guy and my other two soldiers, and my own guys are out of movement points from the previous turn so can't really do anything and the zombies get to just move in and attack?

Ugh. I have now lost in this scene so many times I want to give up. I am displeased that all of my care was undone by what amounts to a cut scene, and it has put me really put me behind.

Yeah... first campaign people complained about it being a tad too easy, seems the consensus now is it ended up pretty difficult. :D

We'll see if we can tone some of the things down in an update.

As for how to beat level 4... No clever tricks here really. I always have a little bit of a problem with that one too, but it usually works out after a few tries. heh. I think you have the right idea, stay by the truck, pick up as much ammo as you can before the zombies start coming.

The idea here was that Ray won't go to fix the fuse until all the zombies in the warehouse are dead. (which somewhat implies that you have your soldiers close to the warehouse already). But, yeah. I see situations where that wouldn't be the case, so we're looking into some possible solutions to this. Thanks for bringing it to our attention!

Thank you, Magnus for the reply... Although I'm still stuck there... After maybe 30 attempts I'm considering waiting for the toned down update...

    Best,

Sometimes helps to restart the level (or even start from a checkpoint from the previous level to pick different skill upgrades). Boring, I know... but better than quitting altogether. :D

    OK. Thank you, Magnus!

I followed your advice... It still took me more than 20 additional attempts to get past that point...

Here's what I found (for people who have trouble there too):
Jack seems to be better off with the assault rifle, most zombies are too hard to damage with axe, chainsaw, etc... and one is too exposed this way...
Usually I like Ryan with the sniper sifle... In this case the shot gun seems better... (chance to damage multiple targets in one action) (I prefer the original over the two barreled version... The additional damage is not enough for the additional AP needed...)
I think selecting more AP points is critical when finishing level 3... This way one can shoot and use sim packs...
I kept Franklin with his machine gun as it's quite powerful... Make sure though to upgrade his AP points, then he can use sim pack or pick things up and use his weapon...

As power ups I liked +health, +damage, -received damage, +hit chance... Once found the +AP boots, but didn't survive that round... :(
Less useful I found +range, +close combat anything...

    Your mileage might vary though...

In regards to toughness the game seems to be harder than campaign 1 in hardcore mode (or whatever it was called)...

PS: The slow zombie movement is super annoying when trying to get through rough spots like this... I actually did my turn then put the phone away untill I felt the zombies were done... Such a waste of time...There really should be the option to make them move 10x faster...

Second gripe: Zombie is right next to Jack equalling 75% hit chance... And he misses three times in a row... I know that that is statistically possible... But makes the game feel not that tactical, but more dependent on luck... I know that the zombies miss a lot of hits too... But it still feels weird... And dodging a sniper bullet from any distance... Mmmh... I dunno... :p

I'm not sure if this is intended or a bug: I seem to have lost all that precious ammo that I collected after killing all the zombies off in the end of level 4 when I reached level 5...
    Not too funny! :p

Yep, I agree. How do you miss something point blank with a shotgun??

Another question - do the bonuses from items stack? I've got one guy with 2 accuracy bonuses (one of them also has a range bonus) - so do those acc. bonuses add together or does it just take the higher one?

I could see it might be had to hit a zombie at a distance as they move erratically... But at a short distance... with a shotgun... Agreed!

No clue about stacking bonuses... I would say they should stack or it shouldn't be allowed to equip them... ;)

And I have to agree this is a pretty dead thread... Seems nobody is playing the game much these days... Or at least no one is having problems or questions... ;)
