Also, Pizza Hero is good. sebgo likes this. sebgo Well-Known Member Dec 26, 2010 830 396 63 Male 95% leisure. Somewhere in a town amidst the Amazon jungle. http://www.google.com #4 sebgo, Apr 11, 2024 I have Twinworld Survivor on my wishlist, but it doesn't seem like it's better than VS, just a fresh look and a "hack IAPs" theme (probably the main selling aspect). I'll check Pizza Hero since the price tag fits my budget and, because according to its IAP listing, it probably isn't or shouldn't be an abusive cash grab. Thanks for the suggestions. jonaswills Well-Known Member Patreon Gold Nov 11, 2008 403 3 18 Game Developer Washington https://www.globaloutlier.com/ #5 jonaswills, Apr 11, 2024 Hello! I worked on Taco: Hamster Hero, and I think it's worth checking out. There's a ton of innovation with the genre and we have plans for future updates so we'd love any feedback we can get to make improvements. We put in a lot of IAP skus to try different price points with the new release, and overall we try to be pretty generous for our FTP players so everything in the game can be earned without spending a dime. sebgo likes this. sebgo Well-Known Member Dec 26, 2010 830 396 63 Male 95% leisure. Overall, it plays via regular VS mechanics: kill baddies, fill an exp/power gauge to level up, get powerups or upgrade equipped ones, continue and repeat until you lose or meet the timer goal (unlike its source of... inspiration, runs last for up to 5 minutes, at least at first). Not much new here so far, except run duration, mid-boss boosts and an emergency skill button. Difficulty seems fair enough, even mid-bosses can be dispatched easily; once you take them off, they grant temporary boosts to any of your equipped power ups at random. All of it with a cutey sort of toy and cartoon-ish visual style. Lots of differently priced IAP packs for several in-game uses such as comics that are used for unlocking skins (I already forgot what the tutorial made me do haha); money (coins) that can be used to upgrade character stats; money (green bills) for unlocking what seems to be some sort of bestiary and, maybe, some other stuff; ad-skip tickets (15 tickets daily during 30 days is an option); nuts, which I don't/won't know what they're for; and red crystals, of which I don't/won't know their purpose either. Reading through Terms of Use almost felt like "if you use our services: you owe us everything, we owe you nothing", as usual with that kind of terms, though. Apparently, I got this wrong: Spoiler According to Terms (assuming I got them right), IAPs are not refundable. So, it's an initial asset download: Spoiler Also, mind your mobile data allowance since this is an online-only game, or at least it requires an active internet connection in order to login and reach the main screen (not mentioned anywhere in the app description or ToU); it used up ~70 MB in 56 minutes (according to screen time) even on a lame connection such as mine. -------------------------- Tap anywhere to purchase: Common practice in free-to-play games; makes IAP-ing easier: Tapping anywhere on that board, and not only the price tag button, will trigger a purchase confirmation. So be careful where you put your fingers (I almost put mine on my iPotato's home button). $24.900 COP is equivalent to $4.99 (in case anyone wonders about pricing), so usually $29.99 I suppose. -------------------------- Spoiler Still, looking forward to that Contra DLC. ☆♡ Edit: Ammended some IAP and data consumption claims. It sounds like you're just getting started if you haven't figured out what the other currencies do yet. I hope you keep playing because there's a lot more to discover! Have you tried any of the other costumes yet? Regarding the TOS it's a pretty standard one, the screenshot about refunds pertains to virtual purchases while inside the game, not In-App-Purchases you buy from Google or Apple which can be refunded through their services. These virtual purchases would be things like buying a lot of extra revives on a level and then asking for a refund if you weren't able to win. We're also ATT compliant, so it's easy to opt-out of tracking if you have privacy concerns. I passed the touch box info over to our UI designer and she's looking into a fix now! The filesize download is because we download some extra files at the first install of the game. It's something we'd like to optimize better in the future, it costs us money to host those files too. We need those files to make sure the game looks as good as it does, and a lot of the initial download size is part of our soundtrack made by Alexander Brandon ( https://alexanderbrandon.bandcamp.com/ ) sebgo likes this. sebgo Well-Known Member Dec 26, 2010 830 396 63 Male 95% leisure. Somewhere in a town amidst the Amazon jungle. http://www.google.com #8 sebgo, Apr 12, 2024 I only tried Super Taco. I liked standard Taco better, though. Ok, I'll fix my post about IAP not being refundable. And yeah, it's pretty standard, they're always a horrible read. Haha ༼;´༎ຶ ༎ຶ༽ Apparently, it's common practice, according to a friend who's played more free-to-play games than I do. So I don't think that'd be necessary. It was just unexpected, since the price tag button was big enough to be pressed, even on a regular iPhone 8; I tapped the board to see if I could get some extra info or interaction and was surprised to see a purchase prompt. Oh, ok. I thought it was a constantly transferring process which could lead to a big data consumption depending on usage. Can't said assets be added to the AppStore build so that the app only uses data/Wi-Fi for downloading small patches and ad-related content? And sorry, I didn't pay attention to soundtrack. I was actually too focused on playing. Also, I don't think I'll be playing it much either, even though I kinda enjoyed the little time I spent with it on my first try; nowadays, I don't spend much time in most games, not even on paid ones; and IAPs, even though they're completely optional, almost always scare me off, mostly because I take them as a warning like "this could be a grind, if you don't spend a dime", even if that's not the case.
