Because once you deleted it the first time 'round, you just indirectly said "I can live without this game". No one's forcing you to own it again. Look, I'm with you guys 100%, but why is it that the second I grab this for free on my iPad, I'm going to go and throw another few dollars (like the first time a year ago) at these guys for the Android version?
Yep, that bigger story is where my interest is. I'm certainly willing to give you another chance, but would prefer to learn from your mistakes in exchange for that support.
Your point is the cost is so low who cares? Very few people are going to share the same views as it's bad business to make you pay for something you've already paid for. Suggestion to the developer, put a $3 donate IAP in the game so people like metal who don't mind parting with a few bucks for a good cause can do so. Maybe make an exclusive skin for the cars for these supporters to show for their support. Everyone can be happy this way.
There was no damage done on the iOS platform. The developers tried something out, failed, and decided to try and make things right. The damage that was done, however, is in this this thread. Between the 1 star thread rating, Royce giving the app a 1 star rating in the appinfo and the general way people are crapping all over Playrise? A wise man once said: the tone like two years ago used to be "wow it's so cool the developer of this game is here!!!"...now it's "I just shit on a plate you better eat it you filthy ****ing pig **** iOS developer" All for 3 dollars? Was it worth it?
By the way, where can I get access to this magical nozzle which shoots out $3 on command? I hear people say similarly ridiculous comments on nearly every thread here. But, what would happen if I multiplied that $3 to every game thread on this site? How much is too much to pay on games in a year? $500? $1000? You guys think everyone has that much cash laying around? And before you mark it as "off-topic", just keep in mind that I'm simply pointing out that anyone saying something as ridiculous as "$3 is nothing" is also off-topic.
You do realize by having IAPs in this premium version, people on the App Store are just going to be like "ERMAHGAWD!!! LIARS! I SEE IAPS! HAW DURR U SAI DURR NO!". Just makes things worse.
If there was no damage, he wouldn't be apologizing. You lost me at the end there. It really bothers you that the customer is in the drivers seat? That the customer has a voice? That the customer might actually have some rights? Pity.
I'm sorry but I think that's a really patronising comment. The dev has already stated that they made some mistakes and in, a very generous IMO, way of apology to members of this forum, made the new version free for a limited time. I too bought the original at full price and was a little dismayed when it went freemium. But I understand that this is the studio's first game and in order to make more games have to make money. They explored the freemium route and have now decided to make subsequent games premium only. They should be applauded, not derided, in my opinion.
Earlier in this thread, he alluded to a deeper explanation of what happened and said he would share that story. I'm holding him to it. Do whatever you like, my comment stands.
Just suggesting a possible solution so people can offer more support if they feel inclined to do so and be rewarded with an exclusive item. Seems like you are just trying to argue when there is no need for arguing. People who want it free can get it now for free. Want to support the developers because they didn't pay for it originally? Wait till Monday and you can purchase the game. Win/win and everyone should be happy.
