Then you need to give Eli a dressing down for featuring the forums thread and calling on non-forum visiting public in general to cast their votes in this thread.
Going through Bastion right now. If there's no more faulty votes in addition to 1 I found earlier, then it looks like we have our GOTY.
Yes, the thread was featured on the front-page, but there's nothing that says who or who can't vote. I'd assume if Eli was implying non-forum members could vote, he'd say something like "Create an account, head on to the thread and give it a look then drop your favorite games in for inclusion". In the end, this poll has and has always had rules. Unrelated: You make it sound like all of us forum members never visit the front-page.
I couldn't care less. If a person made a mistake, he made it, and a dessing down he deserves. Heck, that guy could be the Prime Minister of Germany and I couldn't care less.
There are certain things that it's unwise to do. Giving a site admin a "dressing down" for what you think is a mistake referencing a GotY poll is pretty presumptuous; it's like me telling a moderator that he shouldn't have deleted my post because I think it was appropriate. Everyone's pretty nice here, but I've seen that kind of attitude (not necessarily the one you have) get people banned in at least two instances.
Oh my bastion for the win!!Voted for ravensword though..Well at least it's a current title that was ported and just a downloadable game for the other platforms..So perhaps you may call it a very late release,hehe.. Now why can't we just accept how it turned out and respect the democratic process..
Yes... I am free... but I also realize that on forums, there are certain people you just don't screw with - and one of those is the person who created the forum. We're not enslaved - but we have enough respect for the person who made it possible for us all to be together here to not push it when something we might have an issue with arises, especially with something as trivial as a few poll votes is the result. Eli makes mistakes, sure, we all do - but we all also deserve a certain level of respect when those mistakes are made. And if all else fails - he made the site - he can do whatever the hell he wants to and ban any of us for calling him out on anything because he has that right. =oP
Ok fine, I agree with you. Who wants to lose their job as an esteemed moderator of the famed TA forums, am I right? But you know what? This yes-man attitude has brought the downfall of one too many an empire in the world. Standing up is never nice, but the good man will do just that. Makes me wish I could be a mod some day on TA and instill the spirit of accountability into everyone here, without fear of persecution.
Just to let everyone know, the poll this year was a lot different since the voters could be seen, allowing for a cleaner and more accurate poll as opposed to last year's.
This can't be true. Count again. Purge the system of viruses. Take a bribe. Anything. Just don't let TWD lose. It must be Eli's fault. I knew it. Gather the pitchforks and light the torches. He cause RS2 to be overexposed.
