Yes the only thing that remains is to know in which order they will end up Edit: WarHammer Quest might be the one topping it
Warhammer Quest (easily will be my GoTW and in my GOTY noms) Incredible Jack (nice platformer seemingly lost in the shuffle due to the higher profile releases) After Earth (Great runner with lots of variety even though it's for a flim that's getting trashed) ExZeus 2 (fun on-rails shooter with a great mix of gameplay - could have been a GoTW if it hadn't come out with such huge releases to compete against)
Finally a week where somebody else's opinions are in sync with mine! I thought you'd all gone permanently mad.
I know KOTOR is a great game and I am biased since I don't have an iPad (I did play the Xbox version) but even if I did I still would want Warhammer to win. Guess I still like to see fantastic original games over ports. Not that I don't like seeing great ports come to iOS. Just get more excited over original games (even if WQ has a board game basis).
Warhammer Quest (but I'm sure it's been nominated enough to show up on the poll already ) We really had a fantastic week - I can't stop playing WQ and the other two games are really awesome & high quality. Pretty great.
I love Warhammer Quest to bits too, and im not even a fan of strategy games. This is one of the few that got me from the first 10 mins of playing, and each passing gametime makes it a lot better. I love the fact that it's an original release as well. But i cant deny the glorious gameplay that KOTOR provides, together with the fantastic story, the controls (works surprisingly well), the d20 system and the amount of customization involved, and the Star Wars sights and sounds that all translated so well into the touchscreen. These 2 I considered as 5-star titles, but regardless of being a port or being a classic, KOTOR's overall gameplay and feel was just a bit better than WQ for me.
I played thru KOTOR I & II way back on the XBox. Great games, together with Jade Empire and I completed all three. Mass Effect seemed to be missing that certain something as I never did complete it. I blame the moon buggy sequences as it really screwed with the pacing... Still, I agree with you that Warhammer Quest deserves the nomination as it is a new iPad original videogame.
Poll is up. There was a 7 way tie for 10th place, each game having only one nomination. with respect for the poll reluctantly I excluded a 10th item from the poll. This was due to the relatively less popular nature of these games (1 vote each) suggesting they were not viable GOTW candidates and for lack of a tiebreaker. For reference there 7 games were: Bloom Box Cubus Velox Fervor Marbly Paper Age Robo Jungle Rush Sewer Wars
You forgot to make it a public poll. Maybe since it just began, it would be best to start a new thread and close this one. It's a huge week and I'd hate to see a close finish with no way to detect shenanigans.
After deep contemplation I went with KOTOR. I was going to vote WQ because as others have said its original to ios. However as much as I love it some of the board game mechanics limit the games potential for me. Still fun but... KOTOR is just a gaming masterpiece and I hope its move to ios encourages a few devs to port the classics across. Insane week
