My nominations are: House of the Dead: Overkill Gun Commando Number Tap 2 Space Terror And the game that came out of nowhere and is so far shaping up to be my GOTW: Shiny The Firefly. iTunes Link Let me clarify: It's a FIREFLY. Called SHINY. That is all. Not really, there's more to it than just a Firefly reference. It looks great, the point and click-esque control works well, 33 very high quality levels, a unique "light on, light off" feature and a sweet story about a Dad trying to find his scattered firefly babies. Some will balk at the price and the file size, but to do so would be an error. There is a free version for you to check out, please do so. Edit: Shiny The Firefly FREE
^^^ All I had to do was open my eyes a bit (I literally woke up less than 45 seconds ago), and see that it was you, Andy, making the recommendation. Didnt even look at the price or size.... Installing now. Can't wait to get into it...
There were a few who mentioned before that the runner genre is old and tired. Look at how many nominations runners still get EVERY WEEK. Just glad runners stay strong, as it's still my favorite genre on mobile gaming.
Hehe, guess technically Iron Man is an endless runner though, it kinda feels more like an arcade console game. Dang, really wish it didn't have the wait timers, or I would really be loving it. Robot unicorn 2 is great too. I just don't quite understand why all endless runners seem to have coins and become freemiums after a bit. May sound like an odd question, but are there endless runners without a coin based inapp structure? And if Iron Man had no coins, would it not be considered an endless runner, but a flying game like afterburner climax?
They're a rare breed, but there are a few. Off the top of my head there's Ronin, Jtpck, and Polara has plenty of endless modes.
Yeah... definitely Ronin. You get by through the game with experience, and not coins or other currencies to upgrade stuff. Also, in Ronin, upgrades will lower your score multiplier which makes everything balanced. Polara is one great example too. And God of Blades. And Rayman Jungle Run. There's actually a lot, but i dont want to mention everything, but maybe Mirror's Edge and Zombie Parkour Runner deserves a mention. The only behind the back runner i can think of that isnt coin based is Indiana Stone, and is actually one of the best of its kind.
I actually asked myself this question too, and came up with this: Iron Man 3 plays exactly like how the old GI Joe arcade game was played, which I played a ton of times during my schoolist days. You move left and right at the bottom while avoiding attacks, and you shoot on the upper half of the screen. They are the same in that way.
Lego Batman (cannot get my kids off it) Shiny the Firefly (unexpected TA tipoff from Friday night) Tug the Table (not a euphemism) PUK (pukking mental - in a very good way) Robot Unicorn 2 (tried to hate it but it is good)
