I guess I'll be the first one to nom 5 games. In this order: BlockHopper Pizza vs. Skeletons … Track Lapse Little Acorns I'm nominating Gluddle based off of Sanuku's video and gamer's intuition. Hopefully the memory bug (ipod 4g and ipad 1) is fixed before noms are officially over. ----------------------- Best sneak is cool and all, but even my frustration level has a limit. LoE 2 is LoE 2.
I had to say something, why no love for BlockHopper? I mean it runs circles around everything released this week, especially in terms of platforming; obviously IMO. The only reason Pizza vs. Skeletons isn't separated by the ellipses is because it's ridiculous--over the top, semi-surreal runner/platformer/side scroller that has been aesthetically designed so ridiculously well that it's not even funny. I think if you like platformers, especially puzzle ones, then you'll love BlockHopper. So far, it has been well received in its thread. I'm talking about a puzzle platformer that may have actually set the new bar for puzzle platforming, something that still hasn't really been done since Rolando and iBlast Moki. If you like runners, you should also check out Track Lapse! It's a fantastic challenge runner. My favorite part is shooting zombies, there brains fly out, and then you have to jump over them. It also has a very nice design. I guess, at the end of the day, I'm trying to give a push to two games that don't deserve to be lost. I could care less what wins, especially since I'm usually in disagreement anyways.
I don't like the jumping physics of Blockhopper, you always have to get a little running start to make a good jump. If you try to do it without running your jump arc is weird. Very aggravating in a game where you're constantly jumping from one standalone block to another.
I haven't had any real problem with the physics. It did take me a while to get used to the momentum blocks though. It can't be any worse than the "slip-slidiness" in Little Acorns. I think the problem is, there's more chances to die in BlockHopper, so the frustration kicks in more easily. All I can say is, practice makes perfect. Plus, it wouldn't be a good puzzle platformer if it didn't piss you off. Edit: I think the physics are right if you need to run to get a better jump - more realistic, huh? But nothing can be more frustrating than trying to get all the clocks on BSB.
Haha, cool!!! Thanks!! The fix is still in review, we're trying to get hold of someone at Apple to speed up the process. Will let you know! In the meanwhile - Gluddle can be played on iPhone 4+ and iPad 2 without any problems. Also, the fix might have made it possible to play Gluddle on iPhone 3 and iPod Touch 3 (not s). We don't know this for sure, though, because we haven't tested it (yet). But it might work if you turn of all your other apps and don't receive any Wordfeud notifications while playing Gluddle Have fun! Add Pawn'd to list please Pawn'd is an extremely clever match 3 game that was published on February 16. If if qualifies, it should definitey be on the list - I think it is outstanding. It is free today, so download this now folks.
Nominate: - Little Acorns - Pizza vs Skeletons - Pawn'd - Gluddle - Spongebob's Super Bouncy Fun Time
Just curious, are you all nominating games you have played or is it based on promotional videos and such? Voting would carry a lot more weight if people first stated the games they have purchased and then what they voted for. What's the point of voting for Game X when you ONLY bought Game X!?
I nominate/vote for games I buy each week. This was the first week I nominated one based on gamer's intuition. I even stated that I I don't own it because of the memory bug. So, it holds as much weight as people personally allow.
Beat Sneak Bandit It blew me away, much more than League of Evil 2 did. LoE2 is nice, but it's not on the same level of enjoyment or satisfaction playing BSB is.
The problem is, there's no way for us to play all the games featured, let alone every week. It not meant to be a rigorous consensus, just a general tally on what the community wants to herald that week. Sometimes people vote for a game that looks better than the rest.
