Ok, here's the deal. My buddy is going to buy a new iPod touch real soon. And when he does, I'm gonna buy his old one. It's 32 gig 3rd gen (finally get to play those new games! :D)

So my question is, how do I sync it to my current library and transfer all my stuff to it, while not losing anything? Should I reset his used iPod before I do so?

Never done this before at all so bear with me! Thanks in advance.

    1) Sync & backup your device in iTunes
    2) Plug in the new device and choose Restore from Backup and choose your backup.

This is easier if you've got iTunes set not to auto-sync and/or put the new device into recovery mode, but not necessary.

That's it? Even with all his old apps and everything I can just plug it in and choose my backup?
