No it doesn't - you restart from the last fight.

However it does seem temperamental. Sometimes you will start the fight with the energy you had before the fight or sometimes it will start with the energy loss during the fight.

I am on level 24 now and I do enjoy the game. But realistically I think I am looking at spending IAP using gems to unlock the gate.

This game sucks you in and makes you want to keep playing. I never spent IAP but hell I figured I might as well for this game.

The energy unlock IAP just makes you want to keep playing.

Do you have the original 2 games? No IAP and only priced at 2.99 and 3.99. Pretty much the same game but without pay walls, IAP, facebook begging

same game play, spells, item likeness, etc.

Yeah I played the original 2 games to death hence my warped addiction to this game.

I have just got to the 2nd gate and at this crossroads. Should I pay 1.99 to unlock the second gate.

I think of all the hours this game has provided off the intial 2.99 energy unlock. Got my monies worth.

My problem is the weapons and shields that have unlocked at the end of stage 26 - the prices have increased exponentially. I mean there is a sword here for 845 gems for god sake!

    Greedy greedy.

There's no reason to do that. Zone 23 is excellent for grinding, yielding just over 1k gold every run, and you only have to fight 3 enemies to clear it.

Similarly for the first gate, grind level 10, there's only 3 fights to gain 400+ coins.

So the timer removal is $2.99 and not 4.99?

Btw, how does the 5th day card bonus work? I feel cheated. I tapped the card I wanted and it picked a different card for me. The damn cards all revealed and the one I tapped had 5 gems under it. WTF.

Did they drop the price? It was $4.99...

You don't need that sword. The one's you can buy with coins is more than enough to beat the levels in that stage. It's not greedy if the things they make you buy is NOT REQUIRED to progress further into the game. Same goes for the magic that needs gems. You just need to use the free magic to beat the game anyway.

Grinding for gates is pretty annoying though. I wish they removed that barrier for people who already paid for the 5$ IAP (or at least lower the coin cost to unlock it)

I believe the 5th day bonus is random.

3rd and final gate is 40k coins, or still 120 gems. Zone 30 is good if you want to grind gold, yielding over 1600 gold per 3 enemy run.

Was the unlock really $2.99? Or was that a typo? The IAP list doesn't show that price.

Probably mean £2.99. That's what the UK price is.

Thanks for providing those details. I think I will use the gem unlock for that one. I have almost grinded the 20k needed for the second gate. Took a break as it's boring as hell doing it.

Wow... Stage 45 is pretty much a "use IAP or you will lose" stage.

Was in to this game for awhile and really tried to give it a chance.

Haven't touched it since Tiny Tower Vegas came out (soft launch in Canada).

Might come back to this afterwards.

Just managed to clear it without spending gems, but yeah. Longfin is now absurdly powerful and hits for 14 damage even on 1-pairs, plus it has First Strike and Swap. If you eat bonus line damage, you're a goner.

You pretty much need to get through the first 3 fights without using your charge coin. The best way to do this is to pick up the hammer and reset a lot until you get good starting layouts (i.e., stuff that lets you get a flush ideally in the first turn).

Best of luck getting through that horror.

^ That makes me afraid to put money into this game. Esp when you need gems to get the good stuff. I don't recall ever having to constantly reset at the beginning of a stage in the old versions.

I noticed resetting doesn't necessarily help IF you are losing. The game saves your hit points so if you leave when you're about to lose, when you come back, you'll be at the map again but you'll have like 5 hit points.

Yeah, which is why you should be resetting for a good opening layout and hand (so that you exit before you take the first attack). If a Gold Farmer is going to escape, though, you can reset for as many tries as you want, so that's handy.

You can also use the reset trick as insurance if you're on the last fight of a zone and haven't used your charge coin yet. If you're about to die, reset and use your coin.
