At what point do you hit that gate? This is the first aggressively "freemium" game I've played in quite some time and I'm surprised that I'm actually enjoying it quite a bit (I don't mind the timers, keeps me playing in short bursts). I wouldn't mind paying ONCE though that's usually for something like a doubler which of course isn't offered here...

I've been playing free and agree this game has no soul - both of the others had plenty to spare. Can't believe the unlimited energy is supposed to be half off. Who would pay $10 for this game that still pushes you to make more iap?

The first one's past Zone 13.

If you want value for your money go buy S&P 1 or 2, not the unlimited energy for this.

Another person here that has just paid for the £2.99 for unlimited energy only to hit the first gate and go WTF have I just done.

Fortunately I used 120 gems to unlock the gate that I had but once I hit the second gate I imagine I am just dead in the water.

Kinda regret spending the money on unlimited energy as people have said it's a bit of a red herring and yet the hours I have played with unlimited energy have been fun and a proper time killer.

A catch 22 here - I will play until the second gate and then well maybe I have got my monies worth...

Still have not bought the unlimited energy - what really grinds my gears is the stupid 3rd magic slot - 10 gems?? WTF?? And that is consumable. I have gone through the first 12 areas and about to finish the 13th (have to wait for energy) and only have 40 gems... so I get to use the magic slot a total of 4 times? And that would take me down to 0 gems.

Way to much of a money making grab, enough fun factor to keep me in this (although I am not sure I want to grind through 10000 gold for the pay wall). for the time being, but ultimately a losing game I think for Konami.

I remember a time (in the Nintendo era) where Konami was synonymous with quality - I guess the times, they are a changing'

Has anyone gotten to the second gate yet that know how much it is? I've been using all my gold to increase my stamina (whatever it's called).

I think the gems should probably be saved for equipment since you can't buy those without money. Probably should just grind coin for gate.

I'm tempted to pay $5 just to give it a chance and give my own impressions but it seems like a bad idea thinking in the future.

    Hey Cyg,

It is going to a LONG time for me. I got the first wall - 10,000 coins. At about 300 coins per level - that is 30 levels to have replay - and with the energy charge at 2 1/2 hours to full that is many days away.. I will make up my mind about paying the energy on July 31 and see if the next couple of weeks yields any positive feedback from Konami...

I'm a HUGE fan of the first 2 games. I replay them every 7-8 months or so just to remind myself as a developer what solid, simple and classy presentation of a game should be.

S&PA just took a huge dump on that elegance. I looked at all the weapon and shield stats vs prices. Oh wow, TRIPLE damage for gem swords vs gold swords. The proper paid versions of S&P could CPU cheat at times; no big deal for the paid versions but in an F2P context? Yuck. Just...ugh.

I wonder if any of S&PA's developers are reading this.

Why does it take so long to load between enemies what is it doing? Love this game but not the load times.

Unless you sink money into gems, you won't be able to afford the better gem equips anyway. I'm looking at a weapon that's 300 gems and I'm still in the second world. If you never spend your gems, you'll have to almost finish the game (47 zones) and use the bonuses from push notifications and Facebook login just to afford it, and I'm pretty sure there are better weapons out there by that point.

I just went ahead and threw my gems at the gate too, partly because I want to see the second gate's costs before I decide whether or not to keep playing.

As noted earlier, SP2 is a much more polished game than SP1. They are both worthwhile, but play SP1 first if you get them both as you won't return to SP1 once you play SP2.

Attempting to fight the boss of Zone 26 crashes the game. It also uses up the magic in my second slot for some bizarre reason. Quality programming, guys.

I've tried initiating the fight 3 times and lost 2 spells.

EDIT: Worked on my 5th try. I guess the cutscene is glitchy. The second gate is 20k gold or still 120 gems.

It's just poor designing under the hood. Even the start up is slow. AND for my ipod touch 5th gen, the game freezes for a few seconds when the birds pass by. This game isn't even 3D. It's just extremely poorly optimized.

Try playing S&P2. Count how long it takes you to start a game. Probably under 10 seconds.

A bit of a tip which I only found out when the game crashed out on me.

If you are getting slaughtered in a fight or the card layout just isn't to your liking. Just exit out of the game and kill the process.

It will start at the same fight you were last for you to attempt it again but hopefully with better results.

Doesn't it reset the progress that you have within a level? I seem to recall quitting once by accident and I had to start the whole level over again. If your trick worked that would make farming somewhat easier for gold.
