Pretty good. Having fun so far. The hidden chests add a good exploratory aspect to the game. Some of them seem to really require some tricky jumping though - unless you get a better/higher jumping ability later in the game. Does anyone know if that might be the case? I have the third sword so far (the hidden one), the bombs, and the first part of the magesword. More towns? Hm, I haven't gotten to another one yet, so this game must be quite a lot longer than where I've reached so far. Well, no Angry Birds yet... But definitely some angry bats in this game! Pretty tricky fighting them.
My advice to everyone is to get this then save up those soul thingies and get the iron sword in the shop because it seems to have a better reach than the bronze sword that you start out with.
From the video, it really looks like some sort of Zelda 2.5D... but why are people always refering to Metroid? Because of the exploration aspect?
The hidden chests really make you explore more. If they were not there, I don't think that the game would be as good.
Loving this so far.. very much like a 2D Zelda/Metroid affair, and is good proof, that when done right, virtual controls can work (based on the iPad version).
sorry for causing the mess... Im pretty new to iOS EDIT: HOLD ON, backtothis, your aim username is 'chowchizzle999'? EDIT EDIT: Man, I also don't know what the heck "I just threw up on my MBP" is supposed to mean either... I am so behind all you 1,000-3,000+ posters.
Does anyone know where the 2nd chest is in the Chamber of the Mageblade? The level is pretty linear, yet I can't seem to find anything. Sounds like you might be new to more than just iOS, haha. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metroid
Sleeper hit of the year? I think by not revealing it till so close to launch it made it even better... Most games get hyped and fall short but still make the sales, looks like in this case they already knew they had a good game and didn't need to hype it... Must play this ASAP......
Eh because Metroid was 2D platforming and Zelda never was? If you're unhappy with the Metroid reference, may I suggest Castlevania? How does this game compare to Castlevania series? The 2D platformers that is.
To me its a bit of Metroid, bit of ghost n goblins/contra etc Anyway its an amazing game, was up till about 3am last night playing it non stop, love it ! I like platformers anyway but having an 'RPG platformer' type of game is brilliant. 5/5 for sure, please people leave reviews in the app store as it'll help games like this
Oh yes, one of my favorite combos, and so welcomed after drowning in physics puzzlers for the past several months.
MBP? Myelin Basic Protein? ... Man, give him a break, nobody is born with the complete knowledge of all video games. As a beginner, he has to learn quite a lot. But no need to p!ss new people off. Nah, just learned that it is because of the exploration mechanics and that the game gives you powers and abilities to reach new areas as in Castlevania, Metroid - or Zelda.
