Normally I avoid touchscreen platformers, but Soosiz was pretty good. I think the difference is he doesn't build these to the pixel-precise formula that games like League of Evil and Super Crate Box use (and fail at). I'll probably give this a shot and hope for the best.
There is this PS1 game that looked like this and it was pretty cool too. Gawd, my hands are itchin to play this but it isnt in my appstore yet. Grrrrr.
After playing most of Evertales, which wasn't as bad as I thought it would be based on the backlash here, I'm definately looking forward to this as there really aren't many sidescrolling hack n' slash platformers that I would consider to be "great" on the iOS.

I think the game you are thinking of is Dragon Valor for PS1....as soon as I watched the Gameplay video of this, I immediately thought of the PS1 game I believe you are referring to.
Who thinks the buy button on iTunes should be changed to smash? I do. Also, I loved soosiz, so I am totally buying this.
Anyone else got trolled by the Devs and jumped on the green turtle early in the game? Lol On a serious note though I'm still early in the game but I'm having tons of fun. I just hope it won't be too short though.
Very fun game. Loved Soosiz as well. Will need a bit if tweaking, I got stuck behind a treasure chest, and could not get out, but fun exploration, and great for pick me up and play.
@Touch Foo from the bottom of my heart: Thank you for making this amazing game. Thank you for not tarnishing it with IAP. Thank you for understanding that iPad users need to be able to move the on-screen buttons around and set them to their liking. Thank you for using iCloud. As far as I'm concerned this release sets a new standard of quality for games on this platform. Every excuse in the book used up till now to justify IAP, lack features, lack of attention to detail, and cutting corners, can now be countered simply by pointing a finger at your game. What can we reasonably expect on a mobile platform for a couple of bucks? This. This is what we expect. And we can have it, too. The vast majority of other developers are just going to have to try harder. Thank you.
