This game is quite ok for the most part then it gets way too easy. After 2 hours of playing I am yet to lose a battle.

 

How many levels...

How many levels does this game have?

I'm on level 16 and want to know how close I am to the end.

How do I equip magic?

I'm on Floor 18 and apparently I've earned a bunch of magics. It looks like I have two magic plates too. I've no idea how to equip them though. The in-game manual says I just tap on the plate but that does nothing at all. I wondered if I had to buy the magics first but if so, I can't find that options.

I had a similar issue, but you just have to tap the 'status' button in the bottom left (just tap it, for some reason it doesn't respond to enlongated prods), and then just select the plate in the bottom left of that screen to choose which magics you want to select. Hope that helps...

 

Sadly, no. When I do that it takes me to the screen with all the points for each poker hand, and at the bottom left are my two magic plates. They're empty. Tapping them does nothing. Though I presume that should open up a new screen to let me choose magics?

 

Yes, that's right, it should take you to another screen which show all the plates you have and allow you to equip them...it's strange you don't have that option-I have no idea what to suggest! Sorry...

 

Excellent enjoyable game, glad it came back on the appstore for me to download & play. Going to take a break & play something else before playing the sequel.

I know this game is not on the appstore, but does anyone still have this game on their device with iOS5?

I can't remember the last time I played it, but after beating each floor, there is a hitch soon after the "Floor Clear!" message when the "Results" page is displayed. The game progresses, but the sound cuts out and just disappears. I don't remember this happening the last time I played it.

If anyone still has it, can they check if they see the same thing? It doesn't happen in Sword & Poker 2.

 

Sad, I saw this thread get bumped and was really hoping S&P was back on the Appstore. :/

 

Yah, sorry about that. That was the same situation for me last year when I was looking for it and it just disappeared. Luckily the devs returned and it popped back up and I immediately had to snatch it before it disappeared again.

Who knows if this game will be even playable on the next iOS iteration without it getting an update. Considering my problem with the sound cutting off at every floor of the game, it could be possible that I won't even be able to play S&P with iOS6. That's the problem with digital games and OS updates.

Given the choice to buy one or the other which would you recommend that I pick up?

 

People say the sequel has more refined mechanics.

 

I've decided to buy the second part. Maybe if it is awesome I'll think about getting first one, but not right now.

 

Too bad there is not an HD version of this.
