Gameplay is similar, hidden treasure, similar level length with a few goals to get 3 of something. And there's the pixel art too. However, I've really enjoyed Sword of XOLAN because it's controls are spot on for me and it just feels polished! RPG elements are thinner than GS. You unlock upgrade cards that give the hero help. More health drops, etc. haven't seen any changes to the hero yet, but I'm still in the first area, trying to find all the loot and save everyone. It's first and foremost a platformer. And a good one at that. But it also scratches my RPG itch a little too.
Being a completionist I'd start with the first but they are both only a buck. They are more of an auto runner and platformer hybrid like One Tap Hero and Run Roo Run but longer levels and swipe mechanics. Both are gems and worth more than their asking price. I was bummed that they did not get the attention they deserved.
With MFi controller: Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel ps. thanks touchy for the great find
The entire world should buy this. Plays like utter perfection! Also, i really REALLY dig the sound bytes. Did Bender Bending Rodriguez do some of the voice work?
WOW! The controls on this game are pretty great! I like that you can place the buttons anywhere you want, and the swipe down effect to move to a lower platform is pretty great! I read that this has MFI support, but I don't want to break out my controller for this game. #
I can't get anything to load from the US AppStore. Every game I try to get says no longer available...
This is by far the game of the week!!! Even of the month!!! I absolutely love it and this one might well be the first platformer I'll finish on IOS as most of the time platformers have bad gameplay on iOS but this one is perfect!
Wow! This game is absolutely outstanding! *Possibly* even better than Goblin Sword! (I'm only up to the 4th stage, so it might be early to be making that big call). Graphically it's just stunning. Beautifully animated sprites, and beautifully drawn everything. Just WOW. I can't believe it's only a buck. I'm gonna buy the dev's other games just to make up for how little I had to pay for this one.
Holy. This looks badass! Beautiful visuals. Platforming is my sweet spot. I'll have to play this on lunch tomorrow. Since after work free time is reserved for witcher 3 This game appears to have combat as well, buying it once this is posted!
Also, i wanna say what an appsolute cesspool the App Store is that remarkable efforts like the ones from this dev go unnoticed and disrespected. Thank goodness for these forums.
I can't buy it in the Romanian App Store... Says "Item no longer available", tried on both the iPhone and the iPad. Darn it, want it now!
