The iPad version is going to get more detail in the minimap too, since we have a higher-resolution to work with. And an expanded HUD.
Finally convinced myself to buy the game, and I'm loving it. Slowly but Steadily descending in squire mode . What floor is the sword on? I'm on 13 and I'm assuming it's on 20
Correct me if im wrong (as i often am) but dont shields also show up on the mini-map? Almost if not exactly the same color as ropes... or was I just imagining that?
Is there by chance any plans for a lite version of this? I'm somewhat interested, but I'd like to give it a try before I commit to the purchase.
Shields are the same as the other treasure stuff, like chests, potions, wands, etc. So... uh, pink. As far as I know, we don't have any plans for a LITE version at this time. Sorry.
Sword of Fargoal Forum Threads Dear Sword of Fargoal forum thread followers, Probably most of you know already, but there are a couple of things that have been going on with Sword of Fargoal that are new and noteworthy (to borrow a term). First, the iPad version, "Sword of Fargoal Legends," launched in time for the release of the iPad. The iPad version of the game is released by Chillingo and has Crystal social gaming platform integrated. Second, our iPhone version had a *major* update release (version 1.1), and we have recently submitted an additional feature improvement and bug fix release (version 1.2) that is currently under review by Apple. There are two new forum threads (plus one user review thread) related to these new developments, in case you wish to follow those threads: Sword of Fargoal Update 1.1 (iPhone): http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=49385 Sword of Fargoal Legends (iPad): http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=50714 Sword of Fargoal 1.1 (user review): http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=49511 Just an FYI in case people were wondering where some of the discussion had gone! Sincerely, Jeff McCord Sword of Fargoal
Ok, I'm on floor 21 searching for the sword. I thought it was on 20 so should I go up a floor and look or keep searching on 21?
Floor 20 is the right one, but don't forget that there may be several maps for level 20, so you may need to find side-tunnels and go up or down stairs to find the exact Sword map. The Sword level stairs have an eerie red look to them! Happy Questing! *Jeff
How am I supposed to kill the Minotaur? It's killed me like 20 times in a row, I'm terrible at this game
What is this Temple Shield I hear of? I'm sure it's not the only item I've never seen, but it sounds like the one I want the most! Just died for the third time down in the teens on Legend. I'll be so happy when the update goes live and I can run away from attacks I make and can't win, you know, like the Hero I am.
It's a gray shield with the same cross symbol as on temples. It provides the equivalent of a regeneration spell that's active all the time (so long as the shield remains intact) and it's extremely strong. Even down in the mid-teens it takes a good couple of levels of exploring all areas and fighting everything I come across to even knock it down to 50% -- and as long as you make sure you have some hit points to regain when sacrificing gold to a temple you can keep getting blessed and your shield restored to new to theoretically use that shield indefinitely. I got really lucky and found one on level 2 (wher it took several levels and full exploration to knock it down even to 97%) and still have it in the mid-teens. Awesome shield and a real life saver -- literally.
Holy Moley! Guess it's back into the depths to look for one... though I've been though so many levels since the update I'm kinda shocked I've never seen one... Man if that thing busted you'd cry for a week
You're telling me. I've been very diligent making sure I use temples wisely and being hurt when I step on one to make sure I get the blessing when it's due, 'cos I want to keep that shield in good nick at all times. (One of the next updates I believe Paul will change temple behaviour to allow blessings even if you're not hurt. Right now you only get them if you are and you pass the 2K threshold when you do; if you pass it when you step on a temple and aren't hurt you lose the blessing and have to gather another $2k to sacrifice.) To whit, I rarely have to use healing or regen potions, haven't used any of my restoration potions (well, once, accidentally) and can forge into battle a little more cavalierly knowing that I can heal more quickly, especially if I cast regen on top of that, and then step on a temple. Triple healing power. This is my third game (died the other two) but first time finding one, so I guess they're fairly rare -- understandably.
