Infinite. Dungeons are all randomly generated so it's a new game every time. plus, with the updates that should be turning up shortly it's getting massively better. Even if you're not into Roguelikes, this distills the formula down to its basic hack 'n slash elements, but does it exactly right. It's worth every penny.
Thanks Mindfield. Vester, as he said... infinitely replayable, because you are never exploring the same old maps. Every time you play, it's all new. Plus it's challenging! You will die in fun ways via glorious battles and traps. And if you do finish the game, it's all new next time you play. Plus, this update is seriously super-charged compared to the original release! People who have finished the game already and are expecting more of the same are in for a huge surprise. There are many new secrets and mysteries waiting... Final testing is looking good... upgrade from old saves to new is working flawlessly. We'll be submitting later tonight.
Wonderful news...!!! ...sticks finger into ground to check temperature of hell.... ...yup... definitely getting cooler
Best catch it - it'll go well with my hat dinner.. Thanks for being an awesome developer - I think I'll have just enough time for find that sword for the 18th time...
It's my honour. Better enjoy it, because it's the last time you'll be getting the Sword for a while... muahahah!
Hey everyone! This looks like a great game and I am interested in it. The thing is I have never played a Rougelike. Would I still enjoy it? I do somewhat like dungeon crawlers. Thanks
Blake, you should definitely get this game. Having played roguelikes isn't really a prerequisite, though it certainly adds a nostalgia factor. With this update coming out now, you will be getting your money's worth from this, since it is impossible to put down with just the content it already has. Go for it!
Of all the roguelikes sword of fargoal is the most friendly towards newcomers. In the current version you don't have to worry about weapons or stats at all. The spells and items you get aren't explained and are there for you to figure out yourself. But you have the forum to help you out if you need it. The update have several difficulty modes, one of which is made to be much more forgiving than the Permadeath rougelikes are known for permadeath, in case you didn't know, means once your life hits 0 you are dead. No Phoenix Down to revive you and no going back to old saves to try again. I'm pretty sure if Paul was able to get the tutorial in this new update so that will help you out as well. Overall it's a fantastic game and if you are going to try a rougelike I suggest this one
w00t! Congrats! Now we can end all the "when will it get submitted" chatter, and start up the "when will Apple approve it" banter! Great day in internet history, this is.
Yes, when someone grabs you on the bottom with their gloves on, that be SUB MITTED. I'm so excited! Seriously, I can't wait for you guys to find what awaits you... and die horribly from it
