Hehe - Paul... you shouldn't give away the answer in your picture links: ***.madgarden.net/junkz/sword-shield.png ***.madgarden.net/junkz/sword-shield2.png It should state: ***.madgarden.net/junkz/wellIknowwhatyou'vebeenlookingfor-butit'snothere...png
You, uh ... did? Oh. Yeah. You did. I always just ignored that. But yeah, I noticed the shield too... for some reason it didn't register as "new" because it seemed like such a logical thing in a game like this that seeing it is natural and you expect it, until you realize it never had it before. Hey, it's still early in the morning on Tuesday (which is my Monday this week because we just had a long weekend) so I'm allowed to be a little brain dead.
I didn't even notice those links. Anyway I have another question: what does enchant sword do? Do I deal more damage to the foes the more I enchant my sword?
Yes, an enchanted sword deals more damage. You can see your weapon enchantment level in the PAUSE screen. The update will auto-cast the enchant spells for you.
Speaking of which, those enchantments are permanent, right? Or do they just last a REALLY long time? When I used them, I never saw my attack bonus go back down, so I'm assuming they're perm.
Yessir, they are permanent. We generally don't like to have curses and such, and just focus on the getting-of-cool-stuff aspect.
I think a blow-by-blow account of what's coming up would be perfect to "wet one's lips" in anticipation...
I wonder if MadGarden or Fargoal even can remember all of the tweaks? I'll also bet there are some bits they'd love to let the players discover on their own. Maybe MG can at least list some of the highlights?
Yeah, I'm not going to list all the details because, well... surprise! But you will see ranged attacks, shields, vaults... new potions, magic effects, traps and maps... a new monster or two, and artifacts. On top of the 3 game modes, tutorial, bug fixes and refinements.
Wow. Speechless. Literally. ...................................................................... ...you see? Can't wait to see the all-new brighter-than-white Sword of Fargoal with go-faster stripes and a brand new V8 under the hood ...
When do you think the update will be released? I don't mean to badger you, but it would be nice to have some kind of time frame.
No problem! You're actually the first one to badger me... er, wait a minute. All I can say is that we are working every spare moment we have on it, and it's getting *very* close. If the app store approvals remain as fast as they have been lately, then we will see the update in the store by the end of the month.
I'm a noob to rogue games (and many others). So, I'm always appreciative when developers make the first X number of levels doable and enjoyable for some of us without history or experience. That's one reason why I'm having so much fun with this and Space Minor and Ravensword, among others. The journey is the sweet part for me, and hours of pleasure, even without beating a game, makes the price of the ticket worth it for me. One question: What is the purpose of the crystals?
Rogue Virgin question: Has anyone compiled a list of all the spells and what they do? Some, of course, are obvious, but others not so much. Would really like to know what each newly-acquired spell "buys" me. Just a thought.
Doffie, I think Wikipedia has pretty up-to-date info on it. We don't really have a list of everything, because we want you to experiment and try stuff. As for the glowing crystals, they are just providing some light (i.e. scenery).
