Ok, thanks. But... Isn't it somewhat disingenuous then to be selling the iPhone only version currently at the same price? Am I missing something?

No I don't think so. We could have just left the iPad version as iPad only. They're getting a better deal now. Probably should have raised the price of the universal version in any case. I'm fully confident that any version of our app is worth it.

No, what I meant was, if the iPhone version is about to go free and as you suggested the universal version is the clear choice, then anyone who happens to buy the iPhone version at this point is surely getting a raw deal? Particularly when same price logically suggests same value. And even that aside, the friend I recommended the game to is a new iPhone user and new to the app store. He could very easily have simply clicked on the first "Sword of Fargoal" app he saw instead of asking me to clarify. I'm sure there are many users in the same boat. At the very best having two versions like this strikes me as being unnecessarily confusing.

Hola Madgarden could we possibly see Fargoal 2 as a Christmas gift?

Gabrien, it is definitely confusing... we're discussing this right now and will come up with a solution to clarify the differences. It's not intentional, we just have been focused on Fargoal 2 and the other apps are on the back burner. Fargoal for iPhone is still a full-featured game whether it's $2.99 or $9.99 or free. Not a raw deal no matter how you look at it (IMO). But yeah, we will fix the confusion.

Teh_Ninja, I really can't say for sure. Lots of stuff going on, and Christmas is fast approaching. We'd love to have it ready for then, but we're just not going to release it until it's chock full of awesome and polished to the mirror shine that we've envisioned. So... sorry for the wait, but it is what it is. :)

Madgarden took a month break on F2 while we got some things worked out and he needed to work on an app for us (Glitch Machine), which is in review currently. He's been back on F2 for a few days now. Working on water effects right now.

Yes, I am truly sorry for the wait. I'm back on Fargoal 2, so new stuff is on the way.

How about a little test video? Just messing around with capturing under Linux:

Nice! It's really got its own feel now. I mean, the elements all look like Fargoal but it does feel different. Looking forward to seeing how that water effect works out in the end - it's a really nice idea and those little animated touches can make all the difference.

    Looking excellent as always!

Not to sound tacky... but your work on this game is one of the few inspirations I have had to continue to teach myself programing for my game development - even after a divorce and career switch.

    Insta buy!

    Ooh, love the water!

Have to tell you that for months I've been searching for a game that would get and keep me havng fun the way Fargoal has. Lots of new games since I admitted my Fargoal addiction, and a few games I play regularly. But the love, passion, and deep involvement just isn't there. So I'm currently playing Fargoal daily once again. Drooling for version 2, of course, but the original has never left my iDevices.
