Methinks the wombie's middle name is not, and never has been, Patience. Well, at least as far as Fargoal is concerned.
Wait it's not spring quite yet. I will try to post up some new teasery shots soon... any requests for the kinda stuff you want to see?
Oooh! Has a anyone else with a 2Pad and an HDMI connecter looked at Fargoal on an HD tv screen? 'Tis awesome.
Can you give out any more tidbits about the new class structure? Such as whats different or what can one of the new classes due that is different. Especially something about whatever our new magic class is called ( mage, wizard, etc.)
The classes are now based on 4 core skill areas: battle, shooting, tinkering, and magic. Skill checks for different situations use these scores to determine the outcome. The different classes gain/use these skill scores at different levels of effectiveness. A fighter is 100% effective with battle skill for instance. As well, the characters now have 4 basic stats... STR, DEX, INT, and CON. These factor into the various skill checks as well. Different classes have bonuses and penalties in these areas. As well, different classes have certain class-innate advantages or abilities that are usually unavailable to the others, but they all have a bunch of general skills as well. Pretty standard core really, though most of these little details you won't really notice directly as it's handled under the hood.
Adding classes sounds cool. Curious to see how it'll change the feel of the game. How will this work with existing saves?
It's not going to upgrade existing saves, unfortunately. The changes are massive, and so there's no turning back... but you wouldn't want to anyway. Upgrading from an existing character wouldn't make much sense since the Fargoal 1.x hero data is much simpler, stuff is missing, and all it would do would be to make the first game under 2.0 confusing. Best to start anew. Fargoal Legends keeps the classic 1.x gameplay.
