End of Round 2 So, dear Margarden, after winning the second round of mortal combat against the fargoal code there is only one thing left to do: FINISH HIM!
So is 2.0 close to submission or is there another delay of a few weaks. I could play "Duke Nukem forever" in the meanwhile....
Yes, by all means play Duke Nukem Forever while I continue to slave away for you all. Hey, what can I say, it's a lot of work. Might not hit the Christmas window, but whatever the wait, I assure you... it will be worth it. Example: Last night I was testing the new combat system by spawning a room full of monsters, letting them all fight it out and see who is the last one standing. Just think of the implications of that for a moment...
You better go play Duke Nukem for awhile. Madgarden is making enormous progress, but he's also set some ambitious (unattainable, IMO) dates. I'm impressed with all the cool things I see happening every day.
Okay, I have faith in you. But is there any reason why it must be such an enormous update, while usally the appstore lives from constant updating, with constant little improvements and constant joy for fanboys? Just let me know
What can I say, I want to make it really cool. And I'm the only guy working full time on it. So... it's just a helluva lot of work! Takes time. Yes. Fancy a summon spell, perhaps? Or Charm Monster?
Okay, but please don't make it perfect. Because if you're heading for perfection, I see why Fargoal isn't coming. And if you're investing so much sweat and tears, U should care about marketing and promotion, too. Otherwise the most people who will play 2.0 would have already paid for the until today. Keep anticipations high by giving touch arcade a sneak peak or hands-on or somethin. Thats because, let's be honest, Fargoal cannot show it's outstanding glory on screenshots, so maybe that's why Fargoal - at least here in Germany - isn't at least in the rpg-subsection of the appstore games category...
Yeah, can only do so much. My focus is on the game, the rest will have to be squeaked out when there's time. Anyway, I'm sure that 2.0 will make a pretty decent splash when it's ready.
