Power Dreams Just dreaming' in my usual disorganized manner. I hate being poisoned and staying poisoned. Therefore I'd like my hero to be able to do that to either individual villains or swarms of same. Wands or spells or a poison breath power, something like that. I expect that if/when a Mage hero is added as an option s/he might possess such powers. But I would like just the regular human hero to have a more varied arsenal as well. (probably because in other games, RPGs, I nearly always choose knight or warrior over mage.) Maybe another "sneak" power, in addition to the invisibility spell I also imagine being able to paralyze a foe with fear, cooler than putting a baddie to sleep for a nanosecond, the way the wraiths do to me. More amulets. New monster ideas: An octopus-like thing with sharp tentacles. A velocitoraptor. A crocodile.
Thanks for all the tips on the mage. You mentioned invisibility which reminds me that I dont know if I understand how that works, it seems like the mobs can see right through it. Yes, this game does own. By far my favorite Roguelike on the phone, on any platform actually. And the new graphics look great and run smooth for me. Thanks for (another) awesome update.
On Invisibility... It's quite effective against anything but Dragons. They CAN see right through it, when you're within range (a two- or three-square radius, I believe). However, make sure that you don't have a light spell active, as that pretty much nullifies the Invisibility spell. Think of it as a glowing suit of armor, walking around empty. And yes, this game does indeed own.
I played this game for the first time yesterday after getting it for free on April 17th-ish. And I'm glad I played it. Initially after seeing the screenshots, I wasn't very impressed but I got it anyways. I deleted it off my iPod because I didn't think I would play it. But now, after seeing how popular it is, I tried it out and I'm glad I got it. It's an an amazing retro dungeon crawler (though I didn't even know it was a port of the original game) and I can't seem to put it down!
Thanks ChrisL. As for invisibility... just imagine it like this. If an invisible dude walked right beside you, do you think you would notice? You might. Also, if you were looking at someone, and then they suddenly turned invisible... you'd still know where they are until they walked away from that spot. Etc. And some creatures can sense you in other ways. Invisibility isn't foolproof.
Ok here is a question that I probably should have figured out by now. Are there any benefits to using a treacherous down staircase versus the normal down staircase? Is there a situation where you would use this in place of the normal stairs? I guess if you were desperately tryin to escape a baddy?
"Think of it as a glowing suit of armor, walking around empty." I believe you've just described 99.9% of politicians.
I also got this game on the free event... god i wished I could pay you guys. This game is extremely well made and is the main reason my battery is always almost drained... i hate you guys!
Oh man, 2.0 is shaping up to be very cool. Everyone who wanted lots of stuffs in the dungeon will be quite pleased.
I had the same problem 3 times. I used invisibility and walked quietly and when I got close I put him to sleep and then tried to take the sword back. The first time he still teleported ( which i thought was odd since he was supposed to be sleeping) but the last two times it worked well and then I just stayed away as best I could.
