Don't you? I thought that was one of the Freudian arch-types. I usually only get it after eating burritos, though.
If you make him a steam golem that's painted like a mime I could see myself purchasing that as well. But then I'd want one of myself as well.
I remeber Castle of the Winds. My friend had it and we would play for hours. I was actually thinking about that game when I was initially looking at this game and rogue touch thinking it would be nice to have a dungeon crawler like that game. Ofcourse back when I played that game I did not know what Rogue was. Ahhhh. .. The memories.
Well, I can tell you, from one crawler to another, if you don't already have Sword of Fargoal, get it. It's well worth the five bucks, and it provides a MOST satisfying crawl. You know how fun random dungeons are, being a CotW fan. Now imagine that with less emphasis on inventory, more on cracking skulls, and a hyperactive Dev that is on a personal quest, mandated by the gods of Chaos, to keep the game fresh by pouring in a steady stream of new content (fast enough that you never get bored, but not so fast that you can't enjoy everything before he changes it up again)... Yeah. It's pretty frakkin' awesome. And no, I'm not getting a kickback from Madgarden to say this.
Have you paid your dues, Jack? Yes sir, the check is in the mail. Also, the current dungeons suck compared to what I'm working on. Just sayin'.
Don't worry I have the game. I have been running from and fire ballin' hordes of centipedes for a while now. Also can't wait for updates mads hints are sounding sweet and he hasn't dissapointed yet.
There is a limit to the gold you can carry so you have to do SOMETHING with the extra until you can empty your pockets or find Magic sacks All the humanoid enemies actively look for potions/wands/shields/gold so you bury that gold to make sure it's still around for you to grab later.
How much money (in coins) can you carry in your pockets? Even if you were using all gold dollars, I doubt you'd be able to carry more than $100 without restricting your movement or pulling your pants off. Same principal here. Besides, once you start picking up magic sacks, you don't even have to worry about it much anymore. I usually max my gold out two or three times in a game, then by that time I have enough sacks to hold as much as I can grab between temples. If you're having trouble finding sacks, scour for secret rooms... Sacks seem to be very common in clay pots found in secret areas. Otherwise, they're usually just lying out in the open. I'm just glad that SoF doesn't have the realistic (read: annoying) monetary system that some roguelikes do...
Madgarden, how about a hint or two about the fab new dungeons? My iPad tolerates drool surprisingly well.
Well I am still in the planning stages, but basically you will see: - multiple types of floors, walls etc. in a level, even combinations of cave/keep etc. will be possible - maps that can be any size, from small cellars to huge caverns - more than 4 maps per floor... any amount will be possible - secret/hidden doors that lead to more than just little rooms with pots and snakes. A whole wing of the dungeon could be behind a secret door. - a bunch of new interactive dungeon features Also, so what if you get the Sword out? What is left for your hero to do? Perhaps he/she is brave enough to return to the Ruins of Fargoal, to recover lost treasures and discover what unknown evils have spawned from the torn depths of the great dungeon... Or something.
Ohmygod, you're the best devil I know. And I will need a bath towel to wipe off my iPad. (Whew, excited! I like foreplay, you know.)
I'm working on an update for iPhone, to support the upcoming OS4. Also, fixing up video issues and some minor bugs. I'm sorry, the wonky is going away. But he will return soon!
You must be going mad, Garden. Hope the iPhone 4 update is a breeze for you. I'm hoping to have one of those in my pocket on opening day. Regards from Steve's slave. Also yours, apparently.
