I don't really quite know how long I have been at it like this... basically once I beat the game, got the sword out successfully, I wanted to do this next. I really have no reason to specifically get the quest completed in this instance because that was never my intent. I am still going to head back up a little and explore some more and try to see if I can find any stairs or pits that I have not used yet to see if there are any isolated zones I haven't yet gotten into.

I am eagerly awaiting the next update.

You guys have made a really nice product and I would love to see it evolve massively over time. This could become a very robust and engaging kind of D&D eventually. It would be terrific to start adopting some classic elements like nDn weapons, maybe the ability to change from sword, bow, mace and staff. Yeah I know this is already getting way away from what the game is now... but why not? If I were a programmer I'd love to contribute but the only programming I know is VB which I do quite alright with, but nothing like game development and I have never mastered C or any incarnates. I have a great imagination and mind for design and creation, but not actual coding.

  2. As, squire mode, eh?

See, now you have to do it on Hero mode. And once you complete that, Legendary mode -- that's where the real men with large moustaches and pith helmets hang out.

DanielT, you're a hero. I, too, love the dungeon diving, although I've never been quite as thorough as you were, think it's super. Were you playing on Hero or Legend?

While there are no clear visual cues for secret rooms, I have found that walls of a certain dimension which are at right angles to one another are often worth bumping into.

    and 60 sacks...how could you forget the 60 sacks:confused:

Has anyone ever gotten the urge to just run, and run and run through the dungeon to see how far they could get? Avoiding traps and baddies, not leveling or enchanting or finding any secrets and such? I think I'm gonna try it!

Okay, you're on, Mrs. M. Which level are we choosing for this race? Sounds like fun, perhaps with rather rapid death.

The big black gap is an excellent clue. I use that technique regularly but forgot to mention it.

Your in??? Lets go, all out! Legend mode. Lets detail all we can and compare notes! I'm not even going to roll the dice to better my stats. Gonna go in with what I'm given and see how fast the dungeon hands my arse back to me and in how many pieces!

Okay, to both Legend and not rolling the dice, Rach, but I think you're entirely out of your mind on both counts.

Then as soon as we both instantly die, we will do it my way: Hero and dice rolling.

And then..... (I am laughing too hard to type now.)

Alright, so here we have it. I didn't even bother naming hero 4 because I knew I shouldn't get attached. We were blessed by the Gods to receive 17hp but I guess we didn't pay attention in battle school and only had 5 given as skill.

so, the gate slams down and I start high-tailing it through the fog. No stairs when you need em! Finally found a set that took me to lvl2. I hadn't run into any baddies on lvl1! Lvl2 I had to back track through a spot as a terrifying troll jumped thru the fog and nearly made me wish I'd at least packed one set of clean knickers. As I was running like a sissy..er,I mean back tracking, I darted up into unexplored fog and found another set of stairs! Hooray and joy! Oh wait, treacherous stairs, so nix the joy part. This floor was eery feeling it was big and open. I uncovered a lot of space quickly and dodged baddies with ease. I ventured across a hole that another baddie must have triggered and soon had several centi's after me. Imagine my relief when I found another treacherous path leading me down to, what does that make? Lvl6? So, as soon as I get there I'm warmly welcomed by the stench of a lizard man, but knowing his tricky moves, I easily dodged past him...and then I found his brother. Not to worry though! I was able to dart up into a strange area and lose them. I passed a Teddy bear along the way but he's so cute and slow, didn't worry about him. I guess he liked the way I smelled though because he started to follow. He's slow, I'm not worried. Busy snickering about the were bear I didn't realize that a. I was heading down a narrow path that wasn't having any paths branching off and b. I didn't notice the dart trap...and it was poisoned of course! My hero chugged his only heal potion that he started with and hid in a corner praying. The gods listened and poison wore off before death or the were bear reached me. I couldn't go back the way I came so I continued on a few more steps when my friend the swordsman appeared. I was trapped! Like a dirty rat, I ran back the other way thinking if I had to engage one of them, the were bear would be a better chance and wouldn't you know I'd forget the trap HA! So I could do nothing more than sit in between the bear and the swordsman waiting for death. The swordsman got to me first and it was over. I managed to pull off a screen shot just as I expired. Will post in a minute! This was really a fun experiment!

    Help Please!

I was doing this fun contest with Mrs. M. Got to Level 3 before Starkraving my Legendary hero died. Tried to take a screenshot by holding the Start and Home buttons simultaneously. That's right, right? Well I got the slider-to-shut-down screen and didn't choose either that or the Cancel button on that screen. The iPad appeared to shut down. I pressed Start again and now I'm stuck with a frozen white apple on the black screen.

Tried keeping the Start button depressed for many seconds. Nothing happened. Pressed Start and Home simultaneously and held them, got a black screen and then the white apple and, again, nothing.

Can someone help me or do I have to call Apple?

Grin, the race was fun, but this...not so much.

    Never Mind (thank god)

Whilst I was typing my help call to you guys on my Mac, I left the iPad alone and frozen and it unfroze itself. I think all is fine now.

Hmmm, wonder whether the screenshot worked.

GACK!! OH noez! I broke Doffie's iPad!:eek::(
You should have known better than to follow my suggestions. You do realize I am crazy right? I mean, look who I live with! ;)
Yep, you hit the right buttons for the screenshot, but maybe not at exactly the same time.

Well, you can take my word for it. I died my bloody death as a Level 3 character in dungeon 3, having done quite a bit of running in side rooms in dungeon 2. Even found a secret room down there. 'twas quite fun and, yes, you are a crazy woman married to a crazy man, that's a confirmed fact although not a professional diagnosis, although I'm trained and certified to do that as well.;)

I haven't seen this situation listed, so I have this question. I was on lvl 17 in the dungeon and I found a sword and the message said " you found the sword". I thought the sword I was looking for was on lvl 20 but it looked special and when my character picked it up it went over his shoulder. It was not equipped for use and it wasn't in the equipment list. So I headed for the top only to find out when I reached the top this sword wasn't the sword of fargol. Bummer because I used up a lot if invisibility potions as I moved up the floors. So what was it that I found? I am heading back down again but I would like to know what this sword is.

Great game by the way. Loved it on my iPod touch and it even better on the iPad.

Yeah, there's a bug in the 1.2 version which has a fake sword sometimes. :/ The iPad 1.0 build is based off of that... but we're converging the version numbers now, so the 1.4 will be released on the iPad which fixes that problem, has all of the 1.3 features, and has some higher-res iPad graphics. We will likely submit this weekend.

Just walked into a room and had a shadow dragon and a fyre drake fire at me at the exact same time! That was a sight to behold. Fortunately I was at full health (that temple shield is awesome), and they didn't do full damage.

I didn't do the tutorial and now I am sorry because I don't know how to use the wands. Sometimes I accidentally set one in motion but I don't know how I did it.

Can anyone give me some quick pointers on how to use these? Thanks.

Well you could always tap on the tutorial since it's on the main screen...

But, once you get one it equips itself. If you want to change it then you go into the Equip section of your bag.

There are two ways to cast though. Double tap and hold on the second tap until you hear a chime. There will be a little laser beam showing your aim, lift your finger up when you are over your target to cast.

The other way is to tap and hold on your hero until you hear the chime and drag to your target and lift your finger
