Hip flask. Much more discrete and doesn't jangle around when you dash about. Hey, maybe that's what Paul has planned for those currently ornamental fountains: They're medieval stills.
Just wanna say... I love this game! I absolutely love it and I just needed to tell the secs good job! Hope to see cooler and cooler stuff in future updates, but it's great right now. Kudos.
I thought he'd fill up the barrels with different liquids. Do you take the risk of drinking? or leave it?
I try to cleave to a strict regimen of not drinking out of anything that rats have a habit of popping out of.
Hey now, nothing wrong with a beer that keeps its head longer than you do drinking it. However, I think you'd thinking of where Pabst got its start. Or Coors, maybe. It's a wash either way.
Thanks! Yes, the next update may take a little while yet, but once again, it will be a huge upheaval in how the game plays. Ooh, here's a task for you guys: list everything about the game that you currently feel is *inconsequential* ... ready? GO!
Oh. Okay. Those. And that thing. Oh, specifically? Well, if I take "inconsequential" to mean "ornamental" or "just there to break up the monotony," then: - Fountains - Braziers - Glowing crystals - Floor grates - Justin Bieber - The decorations on the walls - Torch sconces - Barrels - Fox News - Spiral traps - Whatever the colouration difference there is in secret walls that most of us still can't see - Male nipples - Skull door traps Um... possibly more if I can think of anything. And I know a number of those things are just variations for light sources, and some of them you've already got plans for, and still other stuff is indeed just decorative for variety's sake or to set the proper feng shui for the level, but I'm assuming you want lists for the current version.
It's tough to say since I think of inconsiquentional things as ones that you could strip from the game to streamline it. Everything feels like it belongs to me. With no current uses the multiple Light Sources aren't needed Wand of striking doesn't really have a use for me (I prefer lots of uses for equipment) Things like Orbs and Magic Sacks in the USE menu
Actually... you don't know that. Yes, that. Yeah, those orbs and sacks can be moved... somewhere. We'll likely do a minor UI overhaul to sort things a bit better. Striking, yes I will add more uses for it... not only striking enemies. I do find it useful, though it's no fireball. NOTED. As the dungeon gets more interactive, these things will gain more uses. Any monsters that seem useless, or consistently too easy etc.? Each monster will be gaining special abilities as we go. Werebear, Hobgoblin, and Gargoyle are needing some love.
Say what? I've never found anything in them. The spiral traps always terminated in an empty rubble pile for me, and skull door traps just had a pit trap in them and teleport being the only way out of them. (Or possibly a wand of opening, I never tried.)
Hah! If that's what you think, then they have done their job. On that note, I shall have fun with you in the next update...
I've found wands of striking virtually useless against anything that's the least bit scary. And if you're going to be giving the Hobson and weres more love, you'd better give us a (just and balanced and equal and fair and honorable ) bit of love, too, right? "Deee-fense, Deee-fense!" (Could you guess that my Level 20 chick with a worn temple shield in Hero mode just bought the farm? Grrrr.
Past experience has taught me that it's a lot of pain for little to no return, so I really haven't checked lately. Perhaps I will -- but if I find nothing, I'm siccing the Rodents of Unusual Size on you. I was going to suggest the Wand of Striking, but I found it rather handy in Legendary when I was low on hit points and needed to dispatch a baddie without risking sudden death. Once the baddies level up though it's not much use; you could burn through all of a wand's charges before something dies. Skeletons. Don't do much damage -- not that they ever get the chance since a sturdy fart will put them down for the count. Bats too -- sure, they can make you sick, but they're mostly just a nuisance. Wraiths are also pretty annoying. They have fear as an attack but that's not particularly effective for long and just kind of makes you run away for a while 'til the fear wears off. Or, if you have two Dragon orbs, they're just minor obstacles.
