Oh yes, the shield is critical, especially in Legendary mode. I'd have died levels ago if I hadn't found a halfway decent one. Even with it I've already been brought low enough to trigger a restore potion once, and come damn close to death on several occasions where I had to run my bleeding ass over to a temple to heal up. Don't ask about the bleeding ass. Let's just say I have a friend in the discount burro business.

Ah, Vegan, thanks, I forgot about that. In my last two successful games (when I did eventually have wonderful shields), it seemed that I very often got an enchantment along with the blessing and re-forging. Was so excited to have my shield re-upped that I didn't pay so much attention to enchantments. But now that you mention it....
For the past few weeks, I've been unable to play my saved game. The game will crash when it's approaching the half way loading point. Is there any way to save this game?
Hmm... can you send us the crash logs? Is the game a 1.2 or older game, played on version 1.3? Also, I assume you tried rebooting the device. Sometimes it gets low on memory.
That seems to be pretty rare though. When I was raiding the dragon hoard I'd make trips back and forth repeatedly, and in 20 or so trips I got one sword enchantment. To me, the shield restoration is of greater importance, particularly if you have a rare shield, as there's no other way to repair it short of finding a new one. Only if you call me Betty.
Don't miss much, do you, Betty. Toward the end of that game, I had >40 enchantments, and on the lower floors I had my greatest fortune, first with a temple shield, then a dragon scale. Expect I will never fly so high again. But that's why we keep playing, isn't it. It's either "the thing with feathers" or pure masochism. Discuss. No, don't discuss.
It's amazing the sort of pointless crap your brain collects over the years. My brain probably looks like one of those hoses you see on Hoarders. I was pretty beefy at the end of my last game, too. 60+ enchantments, first the temple, then the dragonscale shield, close to 300HP, level 23 ... I was a right ass-kicker I was. So far in Legendary though I feel like Oliver Twist asking for more gruel. Only the master is a rank lizardman and he responds by giving me a swirly. But press on I do. I like feathers...

I have rebooted the device several times, and I can even flush out the memory thanks to being jailbroken. I can't think of anything that I did to the phone from the time I last played this game, and then tried to load it with a crash.
Hey revol... symbolication of the crash report isn't giving me anything, unfortunately. It's possibly that your game had one of the 1.2 map bugs bugs, and the 1.3 update wasn't able to recover for that case. Best thing to do is delete the game and start a new one, sorry. The dungeons are cooler in 1.3 anyway.
Sigh. A person could get a wee bit discouraged, ya know? Just lost my 7th Legend game in a row, although this last time I managed to get to Level 9 before I got careless and blew it, my own fault. Dropping down to Hero until I find my cojones again. Oh wait.. I don't have those, nearly forgot. But I shall return, dammit.
