All good stuff, I hear ya. Yes, working towards much of that. But temporary enchantments are one thing I won't do. I love the concept of a Magic Sword. And we will be doing more with that concept. Having permanent enchanment is the key. But it will all be constantly balanced and refined.
CommanderData, LOL. Yup. BTW, I decided to do the HP balancing after all. It's coming along nicely. Everything will have less HP overall, but in the earlier levels it will feel about the same.
Thanks, thats the only thing i wanted to know, the rest i'll figure out myself... Amazing game, idk why i have any other apps until 100 rouges comes out BTW: brand new to "Permadeath rouglike" genre, loving it
So what does a black orb do? Also, SoF crashed on me yesterday. I was standing on a pile of rubble and searched a barrel that was right next to it and got kicked out of the game, losing my progress. I hadn't gotten too far on the level, but still, had to re-explore about a quarter of the map.
chrisb3, black orb absorbs light. Hmm, crashed when you searched a barrel? At what point in the searching did it crash? Like, right as you clicked Search, or after the barrel lid appeared (assuming you opened one) etc.? Also, was there anything in the rubble pile? Item, trap?
I'm playing hero but I died twice already and my life meter became full again, then the 3rd time I stayed dead. This time through, I lost track of how many time I died
If you were watching the status text at the top of the screen you would have seen that the reason your health went to full is because your character automatically drank a restoration potion. The third time you either didn't have one, or your hit points were pushed so far negative that your character didn't get a chance to react and drink one. You can check your items under the use command to see if you have any potions remaining, and I'd strongly recommend using regular healing potions before you're reduced to zero, as they're much more common.
The barrel didn't have a lid. The rubble was on the tile above the barrel. It crashed when I hit search. Does a Lion's Eye allow you to see enemies in the fog?
The eyes come in pairs... Lions' Eye increases your striking skill, with two that skill increased further, and you become fearless. BTW, we now have a bigger fireball. Yays!
I did it! Almost lost my cool when the sword was stolen from me... Now to try LEGENDARY. edit - suggestion: Would it be possible to add an option in the menu to change your preferred battle button order? I always have teleport scrolls handy and it's the default button when in battle. I'd rather have the option to make shield my default and if out of those - heal potions - teleport ending up like 5th on my list... thx!
Don't encourage him! I'm the one that has to witness him gloating over said big flaming balls. It is not as pretty as one might imagine...I can hear him in there right now killing things with his bigger mightier flamier balls...I'm scared. Think of the children!
Oh, cool. Thanks. That had occurred to me, but I didn't know if it was the case because when I finally died, I still had maybe 6 restoration potions. I guess I must have gone too far negative. So I guess it's not like a phoenix down.
Shumby, Your suggestion is right on-spot. We have long thought about this for future functionality, and are working on concepts and ideas right now for a possible future addition or update. Keep your ideas coming! Jeff McCord
Nice. I saw that I'm fearless now with 2 Lion's Eyes. Found a corpse filled chest and didn't bat an eyelash at it. The Macabre Shield is cool. Didn't scare too many critters though...
Game Impressions This may be my favorite iPhone game of all time. It's rare to see a game that has achieved both simplicity and depth, on any platform. Very well done!
