The new version 1.2 Regions is out now. New features include 3 new regions: Thickwood (level 2+), Ruined Village (level 4+) and Foreign Stronghold (level 6+), new adventures and fighting locations. Also an interesting new update is Everyplay replays. You can now record your fights and share them in Everyplay. You can already see some videos there. Some videos may help in finding out the best way to defeat certain enemies.
Well I just stumbled upon this game and felt this post needs a bump, This is pretty cool form what I've played so far, has simple two button combat and loads of upgrades for both your town and character, a huge quest line to play, seems like there's loads of content. Feels a bit like a cross between an RPG a rogue like and a choose your own adventure. For free its well worth picking up and giving it a go. Edit: also worth pointing out that its free with no ad's!
Just installed and played the first bit. Looks very interesting and I'm looking forward to playing more when I get a chance (hopefully after work, tonight).
Bug Just encountered a big problem that never happened to me before. I fell of the edge of the map in a battle. The other guy just kept backing up, which is normal, and he went too far. My guy followed.
So 8 months later TA finally posts a review. Better late than never I guess http://toucharcade.com/2013/06/15/sword-glory-review-to-die-for-family-clan-or-pieces-of-silver/ 4.5/5!
Glad they did as I missed this at release. Having great fun with it so far. Managed to get up to level 5 and just shy of 10,000 glory. Gotta stop picking fights with guys who are way tougher than me!!
Thank goodness they did! I had never heard of it, and now I can't stop playing it. This game is way too awesome to go unnoticed like it did. I love the art style of the dialog/quest screens. Reminds me of medieval woodcut art.
This game is soooooooooooooooooooooooooohohoho fun. Like, the only single player game I can replay, and play for a long time. Like, the only. This game is sooooohoho good. Everyone get it pleeeze. I've been going clanless. Have yet to beat Darknessborne. Darkness so annoying. Even when I play properly, he deflects careful attacks like crazy. And I swear he has like +123098 dominance. I got Champion of Trodden, and he still has more Dominance than me.
Thanks for making Sword and Glory. It's so fun. Soooooo fun. But I found a bug. It's still so damn fun though. I like the 2d fighting. So yeah, when you go hunting, it's all good. When you press the hunt thingy again, you can't quit out. Button disappears.
I'm glad this little gem is finally getting some visibility; it's one of those games i keep playing from time to time and it's nice to see developers stil updating it from time to time.
I agree. I bought the $8 iap, not because I needed it, but because I felt the devs deserved some money for this little gem.
So I picked this up after the review and I was wondering if anyone had any advice? So far I haven't managed to get past level 5 before dying either to something that shouldn't have killed me, or something I knew I couldn't beat but which the story was forcing me to fight. You know, what perks I should take, what gear I should have (there doesn't really seem to be a whole lot that's useful, after I've gotten one improved sword/shield/necklace/etc. or am I missing something)? Combat always seems to boil down to mashing buttons over and over until I either win or lose, too. I really want to like this game but I feel like I'm missing something that might make me more successful at it.
Read the tips that your brother gives you at the start. Tap = Fast Attack Hold = Power Attack Hold Shield and tap for defensive attack. Fast Attack > Defensive Attack > Power Attack > Fast Attack The moves beat each other out. And Shield Bash, tap shield. I think it beats everything, but it won't injure the guy. Make sure you read the caption at the top, to see whag attavks they are doing. Even the harder battles like the darknessborn ate pretty easy, they spam power attacks a lot. For perks, dominance. If you don't win the same attack skirmishes, you'll lose. Health would be my second choice. The fun thin about the game is experimenting. To tell you the truth, the only mandatory stat is dominance. Always get it. Once there's no more, just experiment. And finally, the only thing I haven't beat is that dude in the last 'city' location. I just remember pushing buttons, then he hit me twice. I fell on to spikes. So speed would definitely be good for that stage.
Whoa, just found this game, actually due to a typo searching on Google. What a awesome hidden gem! Love the art style and fighting. Going to spread the word on the this game in other forums, hopefully make it a bit more known Any more updates in the future?
Late to the party. This game is amazing. It has the feel and personality-driven story of King of Dragon Pass, and lots of depth. But comes in tasty morsels that are easy to chew. I love it so far (on my 10th or so char...haven't made it past level 8 yet. But sometimes I still die earlier!) I've noticed this too. Force-quitting the app seems to work.
