An exception was thrown by the initializer for game.blocktexturesmanager. That is the error i get. Any way to fix it?
Odd to hear an exception thrown in such a competently coded program , perhaps the game installed in a faulty manner. Short of getting the developer to address this personally, these are your only options I think: - try hard reset (hold power & home buttons until power off/on Apple logo) - delete the game and download again (surely this will fix the problem)
Thank you for the reply. I tried both suggestions and it still doesnt work. Oh well. I only lost 4 bucks. Not a huge deal i guess.
I also get the same error when i try to download textures and worlds. It lets me navigate the menus fine though.
I was thinking about the solution to how not get lost while going to look for new caves. It might be wise to consider properly building some kind of road and/or have markers. It's time consuming, but at least you won't get lost. Realistically, you wouldn't go wandering out too far if you are on some strange world with no compass or map. I'm guessing some people use the sun for directional clues. It doesn't help when one zigzags through the wilderness.
It IS a big deal. The product should work irrespective of how much you paid. However, unless you inform the developer, they cannot help provide a fix that you and other players may be experiencing. Also, may prevent a raft of 1-star reviews on the App Store. Email the developer at: candy rufus games @ gmail.com (remove spaces). If you can provide a log report to help the developer isolate the problem, so much the better. @DarkClawz, perhaps I'm masochistic, but I love the fact that there are risks within SC. Rather than rely on mechanic gaming aids, it's entirely reliant on the player to manage their level of risk. Nightc1 provided a number of good tips that allows you to explore. Hope that you reconsider and continue playing.
I have a 4x4 house which I made very fast just after beginning to play because I needed somewhere to sleep. I have in it a 3x3 craft table and 3 chests to keep things in, as well as a horse to move around. I haven't explored nearly anything yet, but the game is amazing so far. I feel as Robinson Crusoe trying to survive great great game.
I couldn't stay away. I'm rebuilding and I dug alittle deeper and found my dimond mine again. I'll just not sleep anywhere but my house from now on!
What device are you on? Have you looked to see if you are out of storage space? I've made that mistake before, thought a game was bad when it was just me being dumb. I'm not sure what the system limits are but the game works flawlessly on my 4S.
Once you have even a reasonable supply of iron, switch to using this for your weapons. Game becomes easy mode at that point. Really looking forward to the animals becoming more dangerous. Taking away the knockback effect should help. It would be excellent if Kaalus could make some animals in a pack try to flank you rather than coming straight at you. Groups of hostile mobs should be scary, and now I'm good at aiming spears and have iron weapons I'm carving stuff up left and right. Iron spears are one-hit kills on birds, and having an iron machete equipped as well let's you run straight at bears, throw a spear into their face, and advance with the melee weapon to finish them off and to pick up the spear. I was running straight at three polar bears last night on an ice floe, felt fully in control of the situation at all times. Fall damage and rebounding spears is pretty much the only way I lose health any more. 1.22 making things harder will be very welcome.
I love the whale, it looks great. I don't want to come off as negative, but I do hope that this means there will be a reason to head out to sea. The whale wouldn't affect me in the same way as sharks currently don't affect me, because heading out into the water isn't something I have a reason to do. I do have some plans to build some half-sunken ships just off the coast, but that's a personal decorative project. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to have a reason to head out to sea, and under the sea. Minecraft hasn't tackled that in four years, so putting in coral reefs, exclusive underwater ores/items, craftable diving helmets etc would be a great way for SurvivalCraft to step away from MC. There's that big endless ocean, if Kaalus can give it purpose other than a reason to head inland then he really would be The Man. Even just tweaking the terrain gen so that instead of a giant continent it was a series of islands, ranging from tiny to huge, would give the ocean purpose. Archipelago would offer more build options and flexibility than endless land bordered by endless ocean on one side. I am greatful that sharks exist even now though. I don't go swimming with them (for obvious reasons), but just seeing them out in the sea sells the realism of the world, makes it feel so much more alive. I'm very aware that this is a game still in development, and effectively still in alpha, so I'm just wishlisting stuff for the future of it. Don't let me come across as negative, I really do love this game.
Awesome news! On another note, anyone know of a great texture pack? I'm useing summer fields right now, but it doesn't show electrical at all and some others as well. I really like it, but I'm trying electrical right now and...:-( Any sites where I can see the textures?
Dokucraft is the best one I've found so far. John Smith is nice, but incomplete. Also makes the stone textures a bit too similar. That's a problem I find with many texture packs, they improve the special items greatly but often the main blocks get a little fussy. Best way to test is set up a creative world, dump down a selection of blocks in a small display area, then swap textures. Let's you see all the items in place. Having a dedicated area to view them is the best way to choose. Nothing worse than thinking something looks good until you start finding and making new ores and items and deciding they really aren't what you were expecting.
The best, to me, is "Fanver MODv3 HD 1.21 Scrafter". High definition, great blocks, great design. I slightly edited the texture because I didn't like the yellow look of the light (Made it white when ON, grey-ish when off), otherwise, it's the best texture there is out there.
Truth. Fanver is beautiful. If you want something for building and beauty, go with MODERN HD 1.21 PNG. Some textures are the same as Fanver, but this one has a darker tone that makes it look that much cooler.
I've started playing in cruel. The adrenaline rush whenever you're in danger is a very nice addition Already died once stupidly to Piranhas. In my latest world, while digging, i stumbled on a cave with water flowing inside... for a moment, I thought I was going to die by drowning (Actually, there was very little water inside, but the initial rush of water surprised me a lot !) I then had to battle two bears, armed with just an iron pick... managed to do it, but was heavily wounded Ever since, i've been making sure my house was protected... I automated the door opening / door closing to ensure that, in the event that a big baddie was following me, I could get inside and be safe. I'll probably also add some trap system to ensure that, if anything is outside to get me, I can kill it safely from the inside of my home
Thanx for the recommendations. I tried them and there nice, but I like summerfields better. I just wish the electronics had textures. I'll keep looking. Thanks again
